How to Paint "Moto Guzzi" on Rear of Seat
« on: October 27, 2017, 09:11:45 PM »
Many Guzzi models over the years have come from the factory with "Moto Guzzi" printed in white on the rear of black-covered seats.  I would like to do the same with the cafe seat of my V50II.  What is the best method?  Is there a stencil available?

I’d guess they were probably screen printed prior to assembly. You may be able to go to a sign company and have them cut a vinyl stencil and spray paint. I’d have them cut a few and get some sample meterial for a test run first

I did one with a readily available stencil for a Yamaha once and used paint for vinyl. It turned out great. I would imagine a stencil is available.

The original letters on the T3, etc., are outlines,. not solid. A stencil seems impossible. How were they painted? Any suggestions for reproducing them? Any actual experience to report?

Not sure what size limitations there are but you might consider having a stamp made. Then test?

A stencil is not impossible if cut in vinyl, you just have to weed out the positive and leave the negative areas. Go to a sign shop and ask questions- have an example of the font

I used stick-on reflective letters
