After the death of my Bobber, I made a total emotional buy. But I have always wanted a Guzzi big block sport bike. So any warts that need removing?

Grease the swingarm bearings and shock linkage bearings.

Make sure whoever is servicing it understands how the W5AM system works on the big blocks so they don't mess about with the throttle bodies in ways they shouldn't be messed about with.

Congrats! You need to adjust on that suspension some and that will make a big difference in ride quality. I used Double D's settings for "large people" as a starting point (since I'm a large person!).

All settings are from fully wound in, hardest settings.
Front.
Sag 33mm
Comp 2 turns
Rebound 3/4 turn
Tyre Pressure 33lb

Rear
Sag 32mm
Comp 3 Turns
Rebound 15 clicks. When 2 up, 11 clicks
Tyre Pressure 36lb

I believe the NGK cap swap is mandatory if for no other reason than it's easy peasy.

The best performance mod you can make is Mark's map.

After that it's farkle to taste and ride ride ride ride!

I can't help with Griso tech any more than those who have responded.

But I have to say damn the Griso has to be one of the best looking bikes Guzzi ever made.

Congratulations on oyur beautiful new ride!

I now wish I'd worked through the suspension and few other issues. Aside from being the best looking bike I've owned, (IMO) this bike put power to the road like nothing else I'd owned. Not a sport bike, but a beast of a standard bike. I just couldn't get the suspension dialed in to my weight and the typical roads I like to ride.

I think Guzzi could have kept the same conservative color scheme as the Tenni bikes with perhaps other paint/saddle color combinations without reverting to the "Black Devil" and subsequent WW2 'flash camoflage' paint schemes. But that's personal taste. I'm sure many thought the Tenni was way too conservative. I thought differently.

Well, hope springs eternal ........ for some reason, I didn't sell my Becker Technik Griso stand or bar riser shims. They're still in the garage hoping for a new bike.

Sure. I'm 235lbs and set the sag with me wearing my gear plus a 10lb weight for some "margin". There's a good bit of adjustment available but for my weight it took a lot cranking to get the rear sag. As a result my shock will be going to Traxxion for a heavier spring and re-valve.

No problem getting the front sag. I'm sure you could improve that end some but for me I've got no real complaints with stock. It's a little harsh I guess but compliant.

Congrats. The Griso is a wonderful bike in terms of looks and ride. I encountered a problem with the speed sensor blinking out (causes an Error message to appear on the dash and the odometer and speedometer to stop working) after leaving the bike in a heavy rain storm. The problem went away a few days later when the sensor dried out. There is a thread or two on this out there. Other than that, pure bliss!

My 09 had the same issue. I've heard the newer sensors are sealed better than earlier ones. The problem is where the wire enters the sensor and a little GE silicone cured mine . After drying it out thoroughly with a hair dryer. No problems since.
