You're right..
They were better. The Johnson sound was bigger.

I saw AC/DC in 1978. Bon Scott carried Angus Young round the concert hall on his shoulders. Angus was playing the guitar while smoke billowed out of a satchel strapped to his back. Brilliant.

If you call screaming more than singing bigger, then I agree.

They definitely continued to make good music after Bon Scott, but I definitely prefered his singing style and those songs are definitely my favorites.

Sad...he had dementia starting at 61...

Surprised to hear the comments that they were "better" with Brian Johnson, never heard that from AC/DC fans before.   They were different, and made their new identity work with BJ, but the Bon Scott days were signature.  I saw online that half the material for "Back in Black" was already done when Bon died, would have been neat to hear him sing those tunes, that voice was like no other.

I don't think anyone said they were better with Brian Johnson.  One guy said bigger.

Maybe my reading comprehension skills are inferior to yours...

You:      They (presumably the collective band?) were never quite the same after Bon Scott died.

Huzo: You're right..   They were better (again, presume the collective here?) . The Johnson sound was bigger.

I give up.
