I never get a flu shot but I do shots from time to time and haven't had the flu. Don't trust the AMA at all, I trust what works.
I also don't mind the side effects at all.

Whenever the old man had a sick piglet, he'd bring it in the house, wrap it in a towel, and put it on the register. Then, he'd make up a hot toddy for it pretty much like in the article. Fed it with an eye dropper. At that point, there would be some serious shaking going on, and they'd either live or die.

if alcohol kills germs, why shouldn't it kill cold and flu germs. I still get flu shot, required as a care giver, but still plan to utilize the old method, nightly.

Use to spend a lot of time at my Great Grandmothers in the Arkansas hills when I was young. A cousin was a State Trooper and whenever he confiscated some whiskey he would drop off some for her to make "cough Syrup"....she would drop hard candy into and it would turn into a really nasty mix.  You got well quick when she brought that bottle out!
