The new year in is parts of the world will begin Feb. 18, 2018. The Chinese calendar says it's the year of the dog, 4715.  For business, they use the calendar that Americans use.

And everyone else uses.   Calendars are meant to sort years out into reasonably even bits, so that contracts can be made, interest earned, loans made ... and none of that has anything to do with when the shortest day is or the longest day in what part of the world.....
