Extremely awesome, but dare I ask, what is a mojo hand?

That's a deep question and one I could talk about for days but suffice it to say it's a personal piece of magic.

A mojo was seen as a good luck charm, a talisman. Some folks believe it it was a bone from a black cat or a black animal such as a crow.
Your mojo is your personal force.
Your mojo enables you to do things unique to you. For example, when Marquez had that consecutive win streak, you could say he had his mojo working.

Your mojo hand is an extension of that...you can do something extraordinary and get away with it.
If you reach forth your mojo hand, you are doing something others can't do and getting away with it.

Right now, Ray Wylie Hubbard has got MAJOR mojo working. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tUqkjs-NCY&index=6&list=PLLIotqkxlzdFcWsoVR37jbH3IYN0oLBo4

He should, he's got some dirt from Lightnin' Hopkins grave....

By the way, thanks to the OP for posting Lightnin'. He did not so much play the guitar as boss it around. Just freakin' brilliant!

It's a shame that so many of these great old blues players are being forgotten.  Ever heard a Barbeque Bob recording?  The first time I head him, I thought, "man, that's pretty good."  Then I thought about it - he's picking the bass line with his thumb, chording with who knows what, and fretting the melody line with a slide.  All at the same time.  I should give up the guitar and buy an accordion.

I really dig the blues. I’ve always been especially fond of the early electric slide guitarists like Elmore James and Hound Dog Taylor. Me? I’m just another flat-picker, but I’ve noticed that all of the really good players play fingerstyle. I think that is how they can thump a bassline, strum chords, and sling that slide around all at the same time (a little easier for Hound Dog; he had six fingers on his fretboard hand). I still wonder how those guys can do all that and remember the lyrics, too! An old live recording of Hound Dog Taylor:
