What did Lou Gehrig say ?

                       "Yet today I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the Earth"

 Most days I do feel exactly that way . Good friends , a motorbike that runs , a nice warm house , a dog who keeps us entertained , and good roads to ride .

"The estate of Eleanor Gehrig, who passed away in 1984, donated the trophy with the Kieran poem to the Hall of Fame in 1985. Got taken out of the "game" ten years early, but am very happy and thankful every day since. 12 years and counting.
By the way, did you know that Lou's teammates called him, "Ole biscuit pants" . Don't know why?
That wasn't too political, I hope.

 Point is , Lou never complained . Life is a great big beautiful thing , enjoy it . For those of you who remember Dilligaf (Mat Vacher) from the board , ALS took him out . Matt was a joyous guy , kept his sense of humor right to the end , the post with the "escape chute" running from his front porch still makes me laugh .

I’ve worked with many ALS patients. It’s a cruel desease. I am blessed every day and thankful I don’t have it. So draw a big deep breath and exhale on your own power, go see a friend or loved one, go for a ride or if it’s too cold go give your bike a pat on the tank and be happy damnit!

Currently I'm falling short on No. 2 but I wont let that get me down (and it WILL surrender to my ministrations eventually) and I've restarted a regular monthly walk with my best mate and the dogs in the beautiful English countryside around here so the world is good
