Hi folks. A simple courtesy request please.
« on: January 16, 2018, 01:22:05 PM »
Please do not curse me out because I have not reset your password after you've asked me 1 time and didn't do it in what you consider a timely manner.

Please remember this is a completely free site, there is no payroll and there are no benefits for those of us that work to keep it all running. We do this out of the total kindness of our hearts and nothing else. When I'm laid up with an upper respiratory thing and don't check my emails in 1 day, it may take a bit to get around to resetting the password...that you...forgot. I mean no disrespect by this post, so don't take it that way. I'm simply asking for time and courtesy.

This is the 2nd time in as many days that I've been chastised for not fixing someones PERSONAL account in what they consider a timely manner.  I'm almost to the point that if you cant remember your own password and you choose to take it out on me, you need to play somewhere else.

That is all.  Thanks for listening.

Here is what being rude gets you.

Last week, I took a two year old, well out of warranty, product back to the store. A non-replaceable connector was failing, so a replacement, refurbished unit, was the only practical fix. I was nice, told them I knew I would have to pay, and they started processing the paperwork. While there, a bitter woman came in screaming at them about her long out of warranty device failing. She screamed at the people, called them names. Cleared out the store basically. The manager tried and tried to calm her down. The sales person handling my issue looked over at the screaming demon, looked at me as I asked nicely for help, looked down at my old broken device. Then she says, 'this sure looks like a safety issue, I need to replace this for safety reasons'. She hands me a new replacement, and I am on my way. Meanwhile, I swear that I overheard that they were charging the screaming nutcase for a few extra things.

Going through life with a bitter disposition isn't always the best plan.

I guess I should thank her for saving ME hundreds of dollars. But I suspect SHE had to pay for my exchange.  :boozing:

 Fixed it for you.
You may want to have your staff check these things before it gets put out.....

I mean no disrespect by this post, so don't take it that way. I'm simply asking for time and courtesy.

Disrespect is sometimes warranted when the initial respect is not earned by or owed to the initiator. If people can't respect the freedoms here, what do you think they would be like to ride with on a Sunday afternoon.

I'm always stunned when Luap and the mods take a minute to request that the basics of decorum remain paramount....that those that find there way here somehow come to believe this community owes them anything other than an opportunity to engage.

Thanks Luap. Shoulda just let 'em stew about for a few days, and show their own a** when they finally regained access.

A solution for people who get snotty with volunteers? That's a bit harder to find.
