From my walk-about last Sat. at Dead Horse State Park in Cottonwood, AZ - some White Crowned Sparrows, and a Sage Thrush... :thumb:

A snowbird is grey with a white belly. Ground feeders. They show up in the Winter around here.

Yup, juncos.  Add juncos, mourning doves, and blue jays to the goldfinches, cardinals, and downy woodpeckers in gliderjohn's pic and that's our scene outside the breakfast table.  Friends in high places, much to be grateful for.

You aren’t kidding. It was -5 the other day and the Sparrows were splashing around in the bird bath like it was summer. I had to keep refilling it. The bird bath is heated but all that does is keep it from freezing solid. It definitely isn’t a bird hot tub.

Then the starling came and took over the hood. Sorry for the poor picture quality.

I think I'd rather be in Montana in January than a crowded RV camp in the desert.

In Quartzsite, there is an annual Mineral / Rock / Gem show every year...and I hear it is a Geezer-Festival of biblical proportions!!

The Redneck Riviera has been a little cool this year, the RGV also. Heading south Saturday to find some warmer weather.  :bike-037:

I had a college friend whose family was from Montgomery, AL.  I remember visiting them with him at age 19, and we also went to Mobile, AL (Red Neck Riviera) and "shucked oysters" there, which cost $20 a bushel back then!.

Here are more Arizona Snowbirds enjoying the good life in their "Golden Years..."  They enjoy the best of both worlds...AZ in the winter ("Heaven") and they escape "HELL" (Arizona summers) and go someplace cool up north, WI, MN, ID, MT, WY, Canada, etc. :1: :thumb:
