Expert eyes - How worn are these splines?
« on: March 19, 2018, 06:21:22 PM »
I'm looking at a 7/33 drive to swap into my Jackal, are these splines too worn to put against my low mile wheel splines?  I only see a little wear, but....  Thanks! :boozing:

I would not use that one. One side of teeth is rounded.

Thinking about it again-- If the ring & pinion are nice, you can swap out the center hub. I would change the seals and the inner one you have to take it out anyway. Don't freak out on the price of the hub.

Thanks guzzisteve, I've seen the price of the hub, I'd probably swap the hub from my 8/33 in to save the $, this could turn into an expensive project quickly!

My advice fwiw
Use it
A. Because it will outlast me and possibly you
B . Because you may want to retry 8/33
I still change, each have value

But if you do swab hubs, sell me the leftovers, please
