Bought new tires for the car.
« on: March 20, 2018, 05:51:39 PM »
I needed to buy some new tires for my VW Jetta. I went to my local tire store and Bought 4 tires for a fair price. They have sold me tires for my Sprinter Van and my Chevy Trailblazer. My Friend has been using them for years.
I go to drive my car away and the low tire pressure light is on. I drive it home and look to the internet to find how to reset the light. I try a couple of things and no dice, the light is on. While I am filling up with gas I notice that none of the little dust covers are on any of the valve stems. Hmmmm. When I am home I decide to check the tire pressure. OUCH! The rear tires were 10 to 15 PSI low. One front was about 3PSI over and one front was 5 PSI Low. Filled up the tires and the light went out.
I bought some new dust covers. All is well. My wife called and complained.

I'd be checking lug bolt torque for sure then - if they can't get a simple thing like tire pressure right, then they likely just "rattle gunned" the lugs on.

I'd at the very least make your concerns known to management and indicate you never intend to buy tires for you or your family there again if that is the level of service you can expect...give them a chance to make it right or ignore you...then act accordingly
