Locktite on Bearing Races?

I am replacing the clutch input bearing in the clutch housing of a 2013 V7 small block, Guzzi Part No. 922 01 225.

I am looking at an old Guzzi manual which says:  �Press in the bearing having lubricated its inner and outer surfaces with a Locktite coat.�

Is that the recommended practice?  I�m worried Locktite will make subsequent disassembly very difficult.

But if this really is what I should do this, then what specific type of Locktite?

Outer surface: maybe, unless it has some sort of bolt-on retainer like the big-blocks, then no. Inner surface: no way.

I"ve never had it happen, but I've heard that multiple replacements of steel wheel bearings in a soft aluminum hub can enlarge the hub enough to prevent the interference fit needed for the bearing race.  Loctite bearing mount can make the difference in avoiding a spun bearing.

 I have a bit  experience using Loctite to retain roller element bearings...What's important is Loctite, as it cures ,can put a squeeze on the bearing outer race..Depending on the bearing internal clearance, they may be several internal clearance available for the same basic part number, it may cause the bearing to jam when rotated. This effect can be more pronounced on larger bearings..So make sure you check that the bearing inner race spins freely..

When diassemdling ,heat is your friend . I use a heat gun & infared thermometer , usually 100-200 deg.c softens it to allow removal.

either my EV's rear wheel bearing had spun or more likely the factory used up a poorly machined wheel. when i needed to replace the rear bearing I used the green bearing loctite (recommended and loaned to me by Guzzi Steve) and as I recall the bottle said it would fill up to 30 thousands of gap. read the directions, it needs to be twisted in and sit for a day if I remember right. It's been in there 6 years or so now.

This happened to my 100k mile California II, they seemed tight enough when I installed them
