Flow restricted exhausts - Norge, maybe other CARCs as well

Hi,

while servicing the Norge I also added weld-in bungs to both exhausts. And noticed quite sizeable welds in the the exhausts.





I estimate a reduction of ~10% of the flow area, so they were removed with a grinder.





The welds join the inner and outer tubes, so they are likely to appear in all exhausts.

Hi,

I wouldn't call the welds sloppy, but the thickness is certainly not necessary. And the engineers most likely didn't expect welds at the circumference to be that thick.

The welds broke on my 2011 Norge. Shell started coming off.

remember the Liberty ships? it's never the weld that breaks, it's always the material next to it.
