V11 Sport Scura from japan on bikeexif
« on: March 28, 2018, 12:22:09 PM »
another custom guzzi entry from bikeexif:

http://www.bikeexif.com/custom-moto-guzzi-v11-scura

i'm not so sure about the placement of the pipes. looks to be keeping your gas and your inner thighs a bit too warm.

Well, at least he wears bibs.
Ruined a perfectly good Scura, though..

Other than the nut cooking exhaust, I think it is pretty nice.

Headers get between 600 and 800 degrees.  Putting them an inch from 5 gallons of gas seems...unwise.  The paint along the bottom of the tank won’t last a week before it’s baked off.

So the owner of this 2002-model V11 handed it over to Katsumoto-san, and tasked him with building something truly limited.

I don't get why these Assclowns feel the need to route the exhaust under the seat. No one is being fooled, it's not a Ducati 916. ( even Ducati tired of the exhaust under the seat gimmick. )

This looks terrible. I would f'n cry my eyes out if my motorcycle turned out like that.

Crapsticks, I just noticed the exhaust exits through the seat ala Ducati Desmosedici. Douchetastic.

Oh, and the builder looks like he raided Chucky's wardrobe.

It's very hard to improve on a Luciano Marabese design.  To say the V11 Sport design "isn't very pretty" is just silly.
IMHO the owner got something different, but not better.

Hmm, very bizarre looking bike! What are those "things" along the bottom edge of the gas tank? Some people will pay money just to make something  look different, but not necessarily better!

Was watching one of those stupid home make over shows while at a friend's house . The premise of the show was to get the husband or wife out of town for a few days and the TV crew would come in and make over the house as a surprise . This episode involved turning a nice functional deck into a completely non-functional faux beach . When the husband returned home he freaked out , wanted to know what his wife and the TV "improvement" crew were thinking . Wonder what the owner of the rare Guzzi thought or said in this case ?

No I don't like it much either. Seems as if a Ducati 860GT tank was used as inspiration

A couple of telling lines from the accompanying

"So the owner of this 2002-model V11 handed it over to Katsumoto-san, and tasked him with building something truly limited." job done

and opened Katsu Motorworks in Fukuoka, - seriously? Sound out the name of the town and that is what was done to the Scura.
