Please keep me posted on how you like it. That's currently at the top of Jenn's list to replace her Grand Cherokee in a year or two... or three (we need to save a lot!).

We were planning to get an XC90 but decided on the Buick Enclave instead. Most luxurious of the GM mid-size SUVs and most importantly for us, has captains chairs in the  2nd row for easier access to the 3rd.

Her list currently looks like this:

Volvo XC90
Range Rover Sport
Ford Exporer Platinum (dark horse)
Infiniti QX60 (maybe another dark horse)
Acura MDX (patooey- honda)
Lexus GX 460
Audi Q7

Initially she had the Subaru Assent on the list too, but I think it doesn't have the stance she's looking for (she likes to sit higher in traffic like her Grand Cherokee lets her).

I think a number of those offer captains chairs for the second row but I forget which ones other than the Subaru and Ford.

The Volvo XC90 is a nice vehicle.  Small problem when the tire sensors go out.  You have to replace all including the one for the spare otherwise the dash light will stay on.  Around $100 per wheel.   I tried resetting the dash light but because the spare hadn't been changed out the light came back on.  (not my car, one of my co-workers)

How old was it when that happened? I know we haven't had that problem in the first 6 years on our WK2, but I have no idea how that compares to average.

Anyway $500 works out to be about 0.7% vehicle cost. So if it's a maintenance item maybe once or twice in the life of the vehicle, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

I might be annoyed if it were much more often than that though.

That's quite a list. Has she seen the Range Rover Velar? Another dark horse, I expect.

Sounds like you turn over vehicles before the life span gives out.  I'll check on it.

She didn't mention it to me so I can't say.

But does it offer a 3rd row? She's not considering anything that doesn't.

Tom next time just use a small piece of black, has to be black, doesn't need to be Volvo electrical tape over the TPI light, works great. :thumb:

Wasn't my car.  I have a OBDII and can reset the dash lights but thanks.  I think she does that already
KevM....the tire sensors last for 8 yrs.  You'd probably get rid of the car by then.  The recommended r/r schedule.

These arrived today. We have had bad weather down here in NZ but this delivery brightened up the day so much that the sun came out. I have to go for a ride now.

ok if I put what made me smile yesterday? Seems like the right place to drop something pretty frivolous, that only this crowd may find amusing.

I attempt to keep chickens. In reality I support free range raccoons. I've donated many hens to the cause. I'm a slow learner however, and currently have a half dozen pullets (hens not yet old enough to lay) living in a dog crate in the basement prior to being moved out to the coop.

I also have a rooster. My roosters name is Frank. Frank loves to sing. Frank is a bad ass. For real. He's survived a couple attacks by raccoons which have proven their lethality.

Frank knows the girls are in the basement, which is a walkout. Last night as I was reinforcing the coop prior to the new tenants moving in, Frank was out and about. I lost track of him. Not easy because my Aussie keeps good tabs on him, and as I said, he never. shuts. up. Went looking for him and found him thusly....

Seems he knows a bit about the heritage of my Italian steed! He was quite proud of himself and allowed himself to be photographed. Perhaps a rebranding of the Jackal is in order?

"IL Gallo!" (the Rooster!!!)

Someone had this decal on their chrome fender the back of their 850-T, as I recall at one of our Cottonwood N.A.R.'s...
