V7 III Stone: 1000 Mile Review on YouTube

I stumbled across this yesterday whilst looking for a video on a cute, featherless lovebird for my kids.   I ended up watching it this morning and was impressed so I thought to share.

‘nice piece, I particularly like the bassoon exhaust reference early on.  It sounds very different than other twins I’ve owned, deeper but mellow.  I think bassoon might be just about right, a lower range woodwind.

The V7III Stone is a lovely, unpretentious retro standard, an unspecialized bike that can do practically anything on the road, in style and comfort, without breaking the bank.  The long-range tank is a de-stresser. Good ergos. 

The dryly humorous narrator describes hitting a sharp bump as akin to "having a prostate exam."  If I had a Stone, replacing the budget rear shocks with something more competent/compliant would be my first mod. 

I like the simplicity of the single-clock dash - In my experience, the information provided by a tach on a Guzzi is redundant, duplicating what your ears, hands and feet are already telling you.

Not so keen on the camouflage green/olive drab tank - looks military and, um, a bit drab.  The blue tank, however, is elegant, and the yellow really pops.  It would be nice if there were a red option - red and black is the classic Guzzi color scheme.  ("Red hair and black leather, my favorite color scheme", Richard Thompson, 1951 Vincent Black Lightning).  The V7III is a very appealing bike in all its variations: easy to see why the V7 line is Guzzi's mainstay nowadays.

Saw that video the other day.  Nice cinematography. 

As far as the color scheme, I like it a lot.  I like the military theme look. 

It would look good parked next to these bikes.

Agree - very good video and editing. Some of the professional websites don't do as well.

I favor the yellow Stone (the fact that I own one has nothing to do with my color preference).

Very nice, grea videos t stuff. makes  me want to go back to Italy for one more European ride.
The v7 is a very special bike, perfect after the suspension bits are upgraded.
