Brake disc "clicking"...

Front disc is "clicking", when bike is pushed. Visual inspection isn't showing anything to the naked eye... or perhaps my eyes suck. But it seems that once per rotation, I get a "click" from the (whatever they're called... the little attachment points that allow the rotor to "float")... I see no warping, but admittedly haven't removed the wheel and checked properly.

Any ideas before I get it up on the stand?

Not sure what bike you have, but I had some full float brembo disks on honda race bikes that were loud. Also had a ducati that had converted from semi floating to full floating that were loud. All of them, you could move the disk slightly.

If you just have standard brakes, look to make sure that you don't have one that is loose or lost the mounting hardware.

My Griso 1100 had "clicking" front brakes.  It was coming from free floating disks that had become a little to free.

I guess after nearly 50,000 miles of riding, some of it spirited in canyons the alum center sections had worn down at the rivets.  They were pretty sloppy.

So I replaced the pair.

Have you recently changed the tire?  I reversed the mounting of my front tire once on my Cali and had that clicking noise.  Wheel rotated fine but made the noise.  Had to remount the tire to get the direction correct and the clicking went away.  Rodekyll clued me in to that.

Alright. I'll check the buttons. Maybe a good time to order a Matris F15 kit, you figure? I mean... save time and all while it's up on the bench, just seems like a logical thing to do. (think my better half will buy that excuse?)

Yes, I did recently mount new tires, but they're on the right way.

mine clicks as well and it is from the floating disc buttons.

Now, my rare clicks but sometimes it does after I ride and parking in the garage.

check the buttons and make sure they are "free to rotate" but not excessively (was told 2mm for & aft by numerous tech of BMW, Ducati & Guzzi)

Go google floating brake disc button cleaning, and you will find how to keep them clean.

the attachments for the disks are called bobbins.  They can be replaced and cheaper than replacing entire disk - get them here: http://www.blackshadow-uk.co.uk/Discregrind.html

   I just installed a new front tire on my Duc and wound up with a ticking noise once per revolution, turned out to be a burr on one of the discs catching the edge of a pad and clicking. Seems it didn't like me disturbing the pads when I removed the wheel assy. Foud the burr, dressed it down, all is good.

Rinkrat… you might be onto something! I found a "ding" in the very edge of the rotor... looks like I might have been hit with a sizeable chunk of gravel at some point. I'll tackle that this evening.

If that is the issue, do not try to sand it down like a mad man...just enough to get the edge off and the rest of will be taking care of by the pads.

I was lucky as I had a rock hit that came up and hit my brake pad just south of my caliper...a huge clunk it was...thought I broke my bike...

Does the click occur only when the wheel is at the same point of rotation, or at random points during the rotation ?
If it is only at one particular point, it'll be an anomaly in the disc or a couple of other things.
But I would gently rotate the wheel with the calipers removed and see if the click goes away, if it does then you know it's interference between the pads and disc. If not then it'll be the disc "falling" downward and after 180 deg of rotation "falls" again due to looseness in the bobbins.
But if you remove the calipers and do the test, you'll halve the possible causes.

Just a thought too, make sure it's not a wheel race crying out.

Do you have a tone wheel and ABS sensor on your bike ?
