That doesn't mean they are the only features. But I mean if you compared say a 2013 V7 to a 2014 there were no differences right? (Other than color). Or a 2014 to 2015 then the only difference was reduced charging capacity right?

What exactly did they need to do differently for this year's Scout lineup?

Rode one. Very nice powertrain and front end. The seating position left a lot to be desired, but, hey-you knew that going into it.

 Hell fellas , car companies run high dollar TV ads touting a model's features , and never once mention anything about the actual things that make an automobile work . Ya gotta hook a potential customer with *features*

Aesthetically I didn't like the radiator (and generally don't on most bikes) till I stood over one. They sit low so the real life perspective is usually different from press and other stylized photos. I was pleasantly surprised to see the thing isn't as distracting in person.

Are you all so insecure in your decision to own Moto Guzzi that you spend all your spare time cutting down other rides to make yours look like the right choice?  I for one am glad there is a variety of motorcycles out there to experience.  If we were only looking at motorcycles from a utilitarian standpoint none of use would be on anything bigger than 500cc UJMs.

We bought a scout about 18 months ago: ABS Scout 69; really Sandy's idea more than mine. The motor is really special: broad power band, plenty of torque down low, smooth; just wish they would put it in a standard or sport-touring bike. I don't like the forward controls for a long distance ride, but it is relaxing for a short jaunt. The suspension needs plenty of help. The brakes are weak compared to those on my other bikes. We use it for 2-up rides of less than 200 miles; anything longer and we take the Norge. For 1-up local rides I use the BMW.


I like the fact that the scout is soooo different from the other bikes; actually think it looks OK, too.

Yes, it is sort of a replacement for the jackal, but the motor is much stronger. Unfortunately, it's brakes and suspension are not up to par with the motor. I think the jackal actually handled twisty roads a bit better.

I started riding Guzzis in '73, sold the last one a year ago. Now we have 2 Scouts. They go as far on a tank at back road speeds as our EV and Jackal did, so no worries.
