Gas cap gasket replacement
« on: September 18, 2018, 12:05:41 AM »
Hi all,

My gas cap gasket is shot. I bought what is supposed to be a replacement gasket for the 850t3 gas cap from Harper's, but the size is totally wrong. I checked on the Moto Guzzino website and they say there are two different sizes of gasket / caps for 70's bikes depending on the year, one being 70 mm and the other being 50mm.

PO installed tank and cap and I don't know if he mismatched parts from different years.  If anyone could clear this up for me, I would hugely appreciate it.

You got the measurement so go to the auto parts store and get one, you may have to buy a cap to get it. I did this over 30yrs ago w/no problem at all.

Buy a sheet of Viton and make your own. Or, there might be something of the correct size and other options here:

Does Harpers have the right one?
