Best Rubber Gaiters

I'm running the 35mm forks on an 850T.  This summer I have gone thru two sets of gaiters (Cracking). Can you recommend a quality gaiter and a lube to keep them from cracking out? Thanks,

I've used BMW gaiters that usually out last the bike. they don't stretch much and oftentimes don't need anything to keep them up. I don't remember the model they are from so it'll take some research

I use these by NOJ but they are made out of neoprene. Been using for years on all 3 of my Guzzi's.

Mg cycle has some.  I've not used them.  The ones on my convert have been there 10+ years.  They appear to have life left.  I don't plan to replace them.  The ones for the 45mm fork EV went away in a couple of years.  I got them both from the same place, years apart.  So it's a crapshoot.

They look similar, and they were about that price, but I picked up both sets on eBay.  I might try the MG cycle sight, I'd love to use OEM BMW but can't find any the correct size.

I have the BMW gaiters for my T3.  They are thick, heavy rubber and should last through my lifetime and then some.  They are worth the effort to find them.

While I can't give you a part number (it's been a long time), if you want them, try calling Dan Kreite, the parts guy at Cycle Werks (Barrington, IL) at (847) 381-8050.  He is a long-time Guzzi guy and I'll bet he can get you what you need.  As I recall, the correct ones are from an R80 or R100 GS.

I have tried the different ones made for Triumphs, and they seem to rot out from the UV, lasting no longer than 2 years. I have had great luck with the dirt bike  fork boots Dennis Kirk sells. They give the dimensions, and I just look for some that fit over the fork lowers, and the fork tube. The brand "Daystar" if I remember correctly,is very durable, and resistant to cracking. I believe they are a vinyl material as opposed to natural rubber.
  I have some on the 40mm forks of my LeMans, the 35mm forks of my Cal II, and the forks of my Aluminum. I love the look ,and extended life of the fork seals.

UV is not helpful but ozone is often the culprit.  Watch where you park the bike, esp. in the off season. Keep far away from electric motors.  Google antiozonant - great scrabble word.  My triumph gaiters on the Cali showing no degradation.  I'm very satisfied with blue bottle Lexol Vinylex.
