Large representation in the 55-75 range. An example of the Baby Boomers continued influence on consumer goods.

The big concern is what happens when those who are 55 today become 80+ and no longer ride motorcyles, spend money on hotrods and classic cars, buy RVs, houses, etc.

Things will be different in another 25 years.

58. On my 40th the elder kids and I had a deal that I would celebrate each year after that counting backwards, so I'm just back to about 21 and a half.

As I'm fond of saying, age distribution is not a "quantum" thing - it's a continuum of ages. "Greatest Generation", "Baby Boomers", "Millenials", etc is just a way of sort of characterizing people - there's nothing definitive about it.

When we in our 50s and 60s are 80+ and thus fewer of us riding, the people who are now 25 and 30 will have made some money, got interested in old bikes and cars, will have bought and paid for their house, and will be buying up everything we've got at estate sales and such, and be right where we are today.

At the Potomac Vintage Riders show and swap meet where I spent a lovely day Sunday, of the hundreds (maybe thousands) of people there throughout the day, it was about evenly distributed between little kids running about sitting on the Honda QA-50s, young 20 and 30 somethings looking for parts to get an Ossa or Bultaco or Elsinore running, and dudes that looked a lot like me with gray beards.

We won't be the last ....

Well, we're still maintaining a solid average age of 60 of those that replied with their ages. This tells me that:

A: People don't start wising up to which motorcycle to ride until late.
B: Piaggio had better take notice and adjust accordingly. Maybe the V85 that the older folks hate will be loved by youth.
C: We need more dealers. Younger folks can't wrench for the most part. So, they will never buy a bike that the closest dealer is 100+ miles away.
D: None of the above matter, nor will change. Guzzi riders are going to ride Guzzi's no matter what.
