Carb rebuild - 36 PHF tiny green o-ring?
« on: September 30, 2018, 07:33:32 PM »
Hey Guyz,
I am going thru my 36 PHF carbs. I bought rebuild kits and there is one tiny green oring in the kit, all others are the usual black orings. This is the smallest "o" in the kit. I have yet to find such a tiny green oring as I have disassembled and cleaned the carbs. Anybody know where that one goes??

Thanx,
Clay

Without a better sense than "tiny", I'm gonna guess - with absolutely no education to the guess - that it goes around either a jet or the air screw shaft, probably in a groove. The color probably isn't significant.  A pic of the bits might help.

Is there just the one and is there one in the kit for the other side? Usually the small o rings go on the mixture screw, as David said.

I've never used that tiny, green o-ring on any carb rebuild.

Charlie.....you are making me feel better.

Yeah guyz on your guesses/hints....those areas are where some of the small o's go. But those are all small black orings in the kit, the green one is even smaller.

Another small one goes on the choke jet(plugs into float bowl), then there is another on the accelerator jet.

Both black.
