My wonderful wife of 41 years passed away peacefully at home this morning. Some of you know that she had a long 30+ year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. The battle she waged so bravely and with amazing grace is now over. Never miss an opportunity to say I love you to those you love. I will miss kissing her forehead and telling her so tomorrow. I was truly blessed to be by her side during her struggle. Being the caregiver for one that you love can bring many unforeseen blessings.

My sincere condolences, Dave. As an RN, who worked in home care with terminal patients, for many years, I feel that anyone who is a caretaker to a loved one until the end is a hero in my book! Its one of the toughest things to go through, and I can tell , Dave, that you did it with huge amounts of love and compassion!
God bless you ,and your family Dave,
Rick D.

Very sorry for your loss. I am new to my profession but i see a
lot of caretakers and even spouses not show any any where near your dedication or grief. She truly must have been a terrific person and you seem to be as well.

Dave,
So sorry. Been there and it will always leave a hole the heart but there can still be a good life for us survivors if we let it happen and I believe that is what our spouses would have wanted for us.

So very sorry. We're with you.

Sorry to hear that Dave. I'm sure it's tough to maintain a 'glass half full' viewpoint at this time. Nothing in this cockeyed universe lasts forever, so cherish the good things every moment they're around. My solution for times like this is creating something. Find something you love doing and do it, whatever that might be. (no clue what that could possibly be...) (LIAR!!!)

Dave - we have all read your words here over the years but I for one did not know you carried this role as your wife’s caregiver.
My sincere condolences to you Dave. I hope you find comfort from many sources including your friends here.
God Bless you Dave. And may you take some comfort in knowing your wife’s suffering is over. Please hang in there.

Dave,
As a fellow care giver to the one who you and also in my case have pledged to stand by through all that life can set before you please accept my most heart felt sorrow for your loss. And as well my respect for your having fought the good fight. It is a hard task to take on and complete. May you find comfort in knowing you finished the course. I will keep you in my prayers along with all who still have a ways to go in a very difficult turn of events in life.
