New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
I'm wearing my microwave repairman hat as we speak.
My bet is on the Surflex.
. Well guess what, not the battery hold down fasteners which were very tiny tri-wing. Never encountered them before so had to then order the proper screwdriver. A few days later got it done.GliderJohn
I've seen that tri wing, pretty stupid when they could have used a regular Phillips or even the same head as the rest of the screws.
And the winner.. drum roll please.. Wirespokes!was the first. That's *assuming* it all works after I get it back together..
Thanks, Chuck. When I replaced the Sureflex in the T3, I started up the engine and couldn't get the clutch to release. I tried to figure out what I'd done wrong, but thankfully didn't pull it all back apart. It wasn't an adjustment thing, what could it be? Took a while, but finally decided to just try it out. Started it up in gear and took off. Once rolling it was good, and by the time I got back from a 30 mile ride it worked fine.
I'm probably too late, but...Before you complete assembly, make sure the clutch releases. Hook up the cable, grab the driveshaft coupler with Vise-Grip and use that to turn the output shaft. Pull in the lever and make sure the clutch is releasing completely. If it isn't, I slip one of the thrust washers from the old throw-out bearing in behind the new throw-out bearing. That 1 mm is usually all that's necessary. It sucks to get it all back together and then find that the clutch doesn't release or drags.
This right here is where I'm at and wanted to know how the dbl rubber puck worked out for lever throw. I used same stuff as Chuck, like new rod & throw out. Lever is right there almost on cover. Puck is in a bit. Got all stuff coming newer longer dbl rubber puck and extra bearing set. I also found my bag of bearings, just in case.Plates are a bit thicker and will wear in so I want something I can remove next year maybe.Just wondering how Chucks worked out, he used same kit from MG?
