What is this hinge called and where to get?

I found these in the UK but with $40 shipping on a $4 hinges its a bit cost prohibitive. On the UK site they are called "hinge link" but nothing comes up as that in the good ole US of A. I've tried Grainger, McMaster Carr, MSC local hardware stores.....nuffin.

Looking for versions in about 1" wide to add hinges to some Tusk pannier lids.

I would try hardware offered by woodworking ships.  Lee Valley tools has a lot of common and obscure hardware.  Just looked quickly at their website and found 27 pages of hinges (over 200 different styles) but didn't search.   If I couldn't find that specific hinge there, they may be able to give you a specific part id or name.  The hard copy catalogs I have from them are around 15 yrs old.

I also thought Packard woodworking used to have lots of hardware that is hard to find elsewhere. They're near me but mail order only.

They look like they wouldn't be that hard to make if you can TIG weld or maybe braze/silver solder.

I have access to some of the best SS TIG welders in the industry and an industrial sheet metal and pipe fab shops. Rolling the edges over the wire bail would take equipment to make it look professional. Even if we had this edge rolling equipment 15 minutes of dead labor costs would more than cover the $40 in shipping from the UK.

In the past as much as I've tried to manufacture items readily avalaible to save money, while i can usually do it it usually only cost me abot 5X as just buying.

I was thinking more along the lines of a garage workshop. You could weld stainless tubing onto flat stock instead of rolling the edges (slitting the tubing if you wanted).

If only these panniers were on a KLR this would be viable and probably preferred method to match the laundry detergent bottle hanguards and milk crate top case. I'd prefer something a little less DIY for my applcation.

There is an extended type of hinge called a Parliament Hinge.

Just done a search and in the plethora of pictures there is one with a similar action but nowhere near the construction.

Also looked in rising hinges but nothing like that.

Something like this work? I did a search on Duck Duck for hinged hinge which gave me images of hinges. Clicked on link but the link failed.

 There are some things that are common in England that have never been seen here , just like there are items in Italy and Bhutan that we never see . The opposite is also true , although I don't think the Germans would care much for "cheese in a can" or mountain dew .

Yes I know if you google "link hinge" it takes you right t the Protex site. That is where I 1st found the hinge type in question. ProTex is based in the UK. The problem is several dollars in hinges is $40+ dollars to ship. I am looking for a US based supplier to make this a little more cost effective.
