Oh wow. I have ridden all around that part of OK - beautiful country BTW - and never new about this bigfoot thing New destination noted
Great responses so far. Thanks to all!!!Cliffrod, TN is loaded with Bigfoot stories. Your wife is not alone. Your wife might appreciate these Youtube audio files:https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=50+years+with+bigfoot%2C+part+1Your Uncle Norman was also not alone. I would have loved to have known him and engaged him in some long discussions. This book is one of my favorites, in terms of a Bigfoot primer book that hits all the Theories (including his theories):https://www.amazon.com/Locals-Thom-Powell/dp/0888395523IMO, the most convincing books are, perhaps the David Paulides books, and the Habituation reports.https://www.amazon.com/David-Paulides/e/B002ALI9AA%3Fref=dbs_a_mng_rwt_scns_shareProbably less than a 1% chance that Bigfoot really does exist, but if they do exist, the world is a better place, IMO. We all know that most people are nuts in some way, and we all have very active imaginations. Also the human mind's capacity for self-delusion appears infinite.Hell, if did not already know that any idea that any human can express should be taken with a huge grain of salt, then accessing the internet should remove all doubt.Still fascinates me, especially since most humans never venture more than a few thousand yards from pavement and are so very certain that the world is not more than they have experienced to date.I WANT TO BELIEVE!
I'm not sure, from my trail cam... squat real hard
Some folks actually believe they owned a 1974 Z1 Kawasaki that would do 150 MPH , do you believe them ? Or how about the guy who claims his uncle Bob had an Indian Super Warrior Chief that he rode back and forth from OKC to LA every weekend for 10 years and never had to do a thing to it ? The 200 MPH Road Runner ? The Elvis Harley ? Any takers ? Dusty
I was attacked by one!
Great picture JU, if I may share a photo of my late Sasquatch want-a-be.
Well, my wife and I are more in the camp of Dusty & Lannis than Uncle Norm. She said that her experience was very odd. she's not a joker, flighty or stupid. She said it seemed too big to be a bear and the others at the camp knew better than to toy with her. Didn't know what it was, only that is was very atypical.Norm was kinda out there, to say the least. Pretty hard to believe a large living organism (especially sexual, thus needing physically mature male & female organisms to reproduce) exists as a viable population with no remnant physical evidence like scat, bones, feeding, bedding or birthing sites, etc. Big biological things are an accumulation or repository of protein which doesn't happen quickly. Wrinkles or tears in time + big hairy creatures + ?? is way too Dr Who for me. Maybe it's true, but it sounds more ridiculous & convenient than plausible compared to the reality that we know and can demonstrate. There was a show about a well known (non-Bigfoot) incident around 1990 that I'll leave unnamed to avoid wicked thread drift and other problems. One of the authorities being interviewed on camera said they had access to military satellites with thermal imaging capacity so "we can see everything alive on that mountain- every coyote, every deer and every person". That was decades ago. If Bigfoot was hanging out, it shouldn't be a big deal to find one or lots of them with such technology now. The technological capacity people have now with phones and civilian versions of military equipment are significant as well. Real Bigfoot evidence would be on the web asap. But it isn't.I never watched or bought into the X Files or such stuff. No matter, The Roswell incident seems far more plausible, especially the investigation by Randle & his book that was published around 89-90. By comparison, the govt and military aren't working too hard to keep Bigfoot under wraps.
Honobia = Hoe-Nobie (spoken language)They do a Bigfoot Festival there every other Fall. I rode to the Festival during the Okie Rally. I was disappointed that no one thought it was for real. That's despite what my brother-in-law told me. I had another photo from a friend in Colorado. It was tracks in the snow in his yard. The tracks were paced at 4 1/2 to 5 feet! Of course I checked my phone and it's gone. (That Bigfoot is crafty man. )What Dusty says makes logical sense. And what uncle Norm says is nuts. OTOH, folks say they see the things. Hard to reconcile. I do think my b-i-l believes it and he believes his cousin. And when you drive there you'll see the sign and can go to the festival. Also, they did a movie about it over the border titled "The Legend of Boggy Creek". Despite being logically silly, people say they see it. And those tracks in the snow were pretty strange. Wish I had the photo. I'll call my buddy and see if he still has it.
Who knows if it does/does not exist. Fact is, while people think we have figured everything out, what we know is miniscule. Every day, scientists, biologists, oceanographers, astronomers make new discoveries. Stay humble and open minded...
Once again , bigfoot only exists in the imagination of those who like to believe in , well , silly stuff . Have spent a lot of time in the deep woods of Eastern TX and Oklahoma , some truly rugged country . Have sighted bears , Elk , wild hogs , coyotes , what I think was probably a coywolf , and a couple of mountain lions . If Darrel is out there he is one shy fella , and his Mrs is even more reclusive . As an aside , why are the imaginary sightings always identified as male ?
That's pretty obvious, the women bigfootfolk stay home at the cave with the youngins. Duh.
What breed dog is that, Dan? Looks a lot like a Bouvier that my folks had for many years. He was a great dog.
