 I still ride one of my sidecar rigs but not on trips longer than 60 miles.
 I Believe I am in my last year above ground.  I have been getting weaker progressively for years now,
  but 8 days ago I was struck with horrendus chest pains.  I put a nitro tab under my tongue but it relieved nothing.
 In horrible pain I did the only thing left.  I dialed 911 for help.  Ambulance and emts were there in five minutes
 And did what emts do finally stuffing me into an ambulance and off to the ER at the hospital.  After about 4 or 5 hours of testing and cat scanning and injections in my stomach, and many different drugs from Morphine on, they got my pain down from 9 and ten levels down to about 7 and 8 levels.
 They put me in an isolation room of the intensive care facility with oxygen and a couple of nurses.  No sleep that night because of pain.  Next morning they told me that I had suffered a blood clot in my lung.  More drugs and pain levels from 9 on down to 6 kept
 me helpless for 3 more days  When my pain levels began to stay under 4 they said I could go home soon.
 I have blood clots in both lungs and my leg.  They tell me the legs are where they came from,  And it may be as much as 5 months before I am clear of them.  I am now home taking about 14 pills a day but at least no more stomach injections. 
 I am just a weak shadow of my former self and probably will only get weaker.
 THIS SUCKS BIGTIME!!!  With winter coming on I will not be riding much at all anymore.  I guess I am lucky the clots went into my lungs and not my heart.  A clot that size in my heart would have been a one time thing and I would be riding with some of our
brothers gone in the sky.  On the other hand, I would not have had 3 days of pain.
 On the good side, while undergoing treatment I was tested extensively for - 19 and found to be without it.
 Please, no prayers!  I am and continue to be a non- believer.  I am certain that man made god in his own image and needed a
better roll model.

All the best; those blood clots are a real bear and I know from bitter experience they hurt like crazy!

Hopefully now the medics have you on the radar they can reverse some of the decay and you will be around to keep us in line for a lot longer.

Where about are you at these days Jim, I thought you had moved back to the mainland.

Wishing you the best, Jim.  I know all about those shots in the stomach, 14 pills a day are a treat in comparison.  Please follow Dr's orders, hope you can use winter downtime to get back on your feet.

Answer to kiwi Roy,  I now reside in Ill noise.  Weather is cold but clear.  I am trying to sell my home in Tucson Arizona.
I left Hawaii almost 4 years ago due to excessively high cost of living.
