Looks like the next thing to try. The picture shows it on a modular helmet, the first one I have seen that would work on one.

Got my hands on a V100 Mandello for the first time on Saturday in Tulsa.

Wow!  What a nice machine!  The 15-degree temps meant we stayed in the comfort of Mother Road Motorsports' showroom, but since Michael D, and I, were the only "customers" in the house, we had free run.

The V100 Mandello is a beautiful machine in the flesh.  Top quality fit and finish.  And wow!  The seating position is perfect for me,  and for a sport-tourer.  Michael D, and I, were thoroughly impressed with the V100 Mandello, and the folks at Mother Road Motorsports seem top-notch.

On a side note, they had a blue '96 model Sport 1100 in the service department that we got to check out.  They're in the process of adding Ducati this spring.  So, if you're into Piaggio, Vespa, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, and/or Ducati, these folks seem like the real-deal.  Glad to have an Italian bike dealer back in the region, and within 120 miles of home.

Does anyone know if they've made any updates or changes to the 2024 model?

I believe the 2024 Mandello receives the same improvements to the transmission as the Stelvio.

I'd like to check out the Stelvio, but have a feeling swinging a leg over will be difficult for me.  Arthritis is limiting range of motion in my hips.  I can just swing my leg over the pillion of the Mandello, and I'm more of a sport-touring rider, anyway.  The seating position reminded me of the V11 Nero Corsa, but a little more comfortable.  I liked it.

I was looking through the service manual online and didn't see any mention of balancing throttle bodies, I assume this must mean it has a single throttle body? Has anyone out there ridden their bike enough to require a valve service? Just curious if any were out of spec. I also wondered if anyone has figured out how to connect GuzziDiag to the new engine. I apologize if any of these questions have already been asked.

Bike has 2 throttle bodies.
I would think balancing would be reviewed/adjusted with the service tool plugged in.  Welcome to CAN bus world!

I'm seriously thinking about buying one but I live 200 miles away from the nearest dealer and would like to be able to do my own service. Maybe that just isn't possible in the modern world. I wonder if you can buy a service tool, or are they limited to dealers only? Sure is nice just being able to connect to my Norge with a lap top and Guzzidiag.

I was at a local dealer yesterday.  Saw a new V100 engine on a pallet.  After some banter, I learned it was for a warranty bike.  The engine regarding the subject bike had a machining defect that caused the liquid cooling and the oil to mix.  Not a good thing but at least they're taking care of the customer.

Wow.  Hope that is not an endemic issue.  It’s just one bike, so…
Regardless, that could really torpedo some sales if it turns up elsewhere.

My 1400 dropped a valve at 500 miles before I bought it. Piaggio supplied a new motor. It still didn't deter me from buying it. Stuff like this happens to all manufacturers. Even so called perfect Honda cars have a a lot of recalls for defective parts and components.

Has anybody here had the center stand option installed on theirs? Just wondering if it works well and if there are any ground clearance issues.

I run the V100S and have the center stand. The balance is really good, so 140 pound me can rock it up and back using the existing rear grab handles. If I can do it anyone can. My lean angles, according to the GUZZI app, is 39 degree on average over 8,000 miles and no clearance issues to that measurement.

Curiously, I love the BLACK wheels. The brake dust is dark and will dirty the gold wheel is a hundred miles or even less. Looks unsightly to an ADHD rider. The black hides the impact of the brake dust far, far better but...it is still there and I clean the wheels after every ride. Black looks better most of the time, the gold look good in your garage after you clean them, true. For me I will keep the satin black wheels (when clean) that look tidy (and matt black when dirty) longer. Just my two wheels worth.

Jeez that would worry me if I owned one…
That Stelvio would be worth the risk though.

I finally got the chance to demo both the V100 Mandello and the Stelvio. Both were very impressive. I preferred the seating position on the Stelvio. The Mandello fet quicker with better throttle response. ( set up?) Neither bike "feels like" a Guzzi. I can get over that. I can see myself parking one in my garage someday.

Love the exhaust on this bike!  But having all of it underneath like that must cook the trans fluid, and the exit is going to make for one LOUD ride!

I use three of the four modes. Sport when I am riding in the mountains with hairpin turns etc, makes for a smoother transition from on to off throttle. For general use road mode works well. In town rain is the choice as it eliminates surging which I think come from minor throttle movements. I wish I had tried rain mode on my Audace, riding in town was awful. Sounds funny but for the whole two years I had the bike I never put it in rain mode. The riding season in Cali is virtually rain free. :thumb:

I ride my '24 Navale mainly in Road mode, there aren't any real "twisties" around here to speak of.  I tried it in Sport mode once, didn't like how it was more sensitive to throttle input, made it a little more difficult to ride.  Only put it in Rain mode to test the wings.  I've had this bike ten and a half months, currently has 398 miles on it, only put 95 miles on it over the last six and a half months, gonna take a while to hit that initial service at 1000 miles.  The jerky clunk from neutral into first really annoys me, so it's relegated to third on my list of bikes to ride.  The V7 is at the top, with the recently acquired Triumph Scrambler 400X in second.  Both transmissions are buttery smooth compared to the V100, and the V7 gives me more of the traditional Guzzi vibe that I'm used to.

bronzestar:

I really appreciate your comments about the V100.  I currently have the 1400 and am going to have to downsize.  My thinking was downsizing to the 2025 V7 if it ever gets here with the cruise control and other improvements.  I have tried to get excited about the V100 but just can't seem to manage it yet.  I have seen pictures of one in a dark blue that we don't get in the US and maybe that could do it for me.  On the other hand, I don't like matte finishes (a personal opinion, not a slam to anyone who does like them) and it looks like the V7 sport might have that finish.  For me, the color has a great influence on whether I see a bike that I have to have.
I will probably forego the technical superiority of the V100 and go with a V7 in the end.  But, for now, I can still heft the big mamma jamma Eldo off the stand, so for this season at least, I am standing pat.  Last of the Big Blocks, woo hoo.

The V100 is such a fantastic bike, that the clunk when going from neutral to first is such a minor niggle that it is easily forgotten.

It would be like meeting Sophia Loren and coming away from that meeting only concerned that she had one hair out of place.

The new Stelvio has a less sporty configuration ,otherwise the same as the v100,better wind protection on the Stelvio.I recommend  you ride both unless you are sure about the v700.V700 is better in mountain riding.I would buy a V85 if I wasn’t so old, my new 14 Stelvio still works for me.
