Here’s Lila aka The Rat holding down the end of the bed this morning. She’s watching out the window for squirrels and dangerous moving branches.

Well, that didn't take long. (Claiming the bed spot) Nice looking pup. Can't go wrong with a good beer and a good dog.

fotoguzzi, my current best friend only likes one toy (squirrels don't count, or fish)
Tennis balls, but they must be green.

Thank you all for sharing your best friends. They have been the greatest thing in my life.

Keeping cats away from the bikes, she hates cats.

Boxer's are not noted for being water dogs but she is all for a good swim. But she hates any rain on her head.

We lost our lab of 13 years Aug 2020...said we weren't getting another dog as both kids are away in college now and we travel quite a bit....WELL we fell in love with a Mini Aussie and got her June 2021.  It's great to have her around as she's a huge distraction to the empty nest!  This is Harley and she loved her first snow.

My Yorkie Ziggy. He had some teeth removed including the front ones so his tongue hangs out. Unfortunately he had all the rest removed last week. He is a rescue from a shelter, we don't know much about him. We know he was treated badly with little to no medical care. He was skin and bones when he came to live with us but he looks good now and enjoying life except for the last few days with jaw discomfort.

First I'll say Thank You for choosing to adopt a companion in need 👍
And without teeth you need the proper food. My late Boxer had most of his lower jaw removed.
I made his food, boneless chicken breasts, boiled and shredded by hand, fresh veggies, barley or brown rice, in a soup type food.
Yeah, I know, I'm crazy. But as you know, w/o teeth food does not digest, and will choke your buddy.
The only water soluble kibble is Bil-Jac. It's a small "pellet" type food, and they love it.
12 lbs. of chicken per 15 lb. bag. A variety for different ages/needs.
Buy it locally, use the $3 coupon, or order on line.

Yes, they do look alike. Ours is getting old for a Boxer as she just turned 10 and she is now having trouble with her hind legs. Vet suggested water therapy and I'm considering getting her (and us) an above ground pool.

Ask your vet about Glucosamine. I give it to my buddies at a young age, it's a joint supplement.
Use 1500 mg per day, not a prescription, cheaper at Walmart.
Be very careful when there are slippery conditions. An ACL injury is very serious and can be a very expensive surgery.
You can also do range of motion exercises to help her joints. Have her lay on her side, talk to her to keep her calm.
Slowly move her leg in it's natural range. 200 times a day, not all at once.
Your calm voice will comfort her and keep her calm.

My daughter could not be parted with Ella one of the last of the Muley labs so she is now living with her collie buddies 5 minutes from me.

I adopted a lab from a nearby lab oriented rescue organization.  His name is Joey.  He is a corker and now 11 months old.  He has also taken to the sidecar very well.

Scout, the wonder dog. She helps me sail the dinghy:

She helps me test the new boats I like to build:

She likes to swim with my wife:

She likes to just hang out:

And she helps in the vineyard:
