we reset them for free, anytime we are open, no appt needed.  Just stop in.   We've trained almost everyone here how to do it.

Plug in, connect to dash module (not ECU), reset wrench, done.

MotoGP comes to Austin next month, time to make a road trip.

I like the little wrench. It balances out the blue handgrip.
I truly don't understand how it can bother someone while they're riding the motorcycle.
Think of it as a trophy for doing your first (and second and third...) service!

Cheers!

Mine finally lit up.  Not nearly as bad as the flashing light for cruise.  Keep thinking I left a signal on.

My wife and I have a pair of v85tt , I bought the tool from the manufacturer in Germany, it arrived last week for just under 400 uk pounds. Worth it for me in future and it does work. Hopefully saves me ever going back to the monkeys who “serviced” it before

Having just received the Guzzi Tech Diagnostic tool yesterday and hooking it up to my 2022 V85TT Travel, I'll say this about it. It works to get rid of the service wrench and will do a few useful things. Is it worth the $500+ I paid for it? For me probably yes, as I'm a tool guy and like have the right tool for the job and I absolutely hate hate hate taking my vehicles to the dealers where they are usually worked on by the most moronic chimps the world has to offer.

Something the tool wont do that I wish it would, is pair the OEM TPMS sensors to the bikes dash or ecu.

Things the tool will do that might be useful for the Guzzi home mechanic are:

Turning off the service wrench

Activating the ABS pump

Being able to check all the switches on the handlebars to make sure they're working when pushed

Activating certain systems like the fuel pump and brake lights to see if they're working

Activating certain warning lights on the dash

Viewing live data, which there's a lot of

Checking for and erasing any stored fault codes. Although this can be done with a much cheaper $12 adapter cable and $25 wireless OBD reader.

Things to keep in mind, this $500+ tool is not like using a Hex GS-911, for anyone familiar with using that tool on their BMW motorcycles. This Guzzi tool isn't as simple to use and comes with very little instructions, so trying to figure out what to select to do what you want will take a bit of button pushing.

If you want more detail on that device, this is it before GTM remove the branding:
https://www.duonix.com/Bike-Scan-2-Pro-for-Moto-Guzzi

Order it with the Euro5/ISO19689 cable option to use on Euro5 bikes.

FYI - Just compared my duonix purchased scanner with a gtm purchased scanner and they have exactly the same branding as each other. Included Duonix instructions take some interpreting. Works though.

That tool appears to just read the fault codes through the OBD connector. Something that can be done a lot cheaper with a cheap cable adapter and standard OBD reader. The only 2 tools I know of which can actually access  the V85TT's different ECUs are the Piaggio PADS tool and the Bike Scan tool by DUONIX which is where the Guzzi Tech one comes from.

Read this on ADVriders.

CEL=Check Engine Light

"Just got my V85TT back from the first service with around 800 miles on it. I hit 1000 miles yesterday and the check engine light came on. To the internet where I read a post about Aprilia knock sensor causing a CEL and how it is cleared with a simple slow rev to almost redline and then back to idle 3 times. So this morning I went into the garage and with the light still on after starting I slowly rev'd that motor in neutral to nearly redline and then let go of throttle for its return quickly to idle 3 times. Shut the bike off and back on and started with no CEL."

Just for info. GTM has stopped selling the Diagnostic tool which can turn off the service wrench and do a few other useful things on MG bikes. The reason given why GTM stopped selling the tool is because of the lack of manufacturer support, as in the manufacture's unwillingness or inability to provide any kind instructions on how to use their own tool. If you still want the tool you can still buy it directly from Duonix in Europe. https://www.duonix.de/en/bike-scan-2-pro/

I'm pretty tech savvy, I got the corect Lonelec cable but could not get GuzziDiag or JPDiag to connect to the bike, JPDiag initially tried to connect but then just hung in Windows 11. Looks like my only option is the dealor or checking out the Duonix tool.

I put GuzziDiag on my new Windows 11 laptop, got the driver for it, port came right up on device manager & matched what it said on diag properties. Start my bike & worked perfect. Just like the Windows 7 laptop that crashed.
Maybe you are missing something or have wrong port listed.

I've used GuzziDiag with no problem , BUT, to be perfectly clear it was with an older laptop that had Win 7 , as they suggested :) .

There's a company renting the Duonix Bike Scan Pro-2 for Motoguzzi on one of the big auction sites. I was able to rent it for about 50 and reset my service light in about 30 seconds. Worked well for my needs. Don't see the need to pay 500 or more for a tool like that for as infrequently as I will need it.

Has anyone managed to update their license for the Bike Scan (Duonix) to the new E5+
You need to connect with the USB to laptop to capture the serial number of the scanner to purchase the upgrade license.
My screen stays off though, unless I also connect it to the bike but then it just sits there showing waiting for unit.

Any thoughts?

That link to the rental is already down. Maybe someone decided to rent it forever??

I'm tempted to buy the OBDSTAR diagnostic tool called iScan Guzzi, it supports the E5 models, can reset service, relay test, TPS zeroing and a little bit more. No one around me has that tool, I found it trough Aliexpress, and is a legit OBD tool company.  can be bought for 300-320 euros.

I bought the OBDStar. It works. Make sure you get the extra cables that are not included
in the kit. Search this site for more info.

I wanted to add that on the OBDStar site when you go to the For Moto Guzzi page, there is a listing of what models
it will work with. Some it can not access the dash, for instance on a Norge (unless there has been an update). So
before buying, make sure it works for your model. And as I mentioned before, there is some more info and links if you
search here for OBDStar.

The dealer that sold the '25 V85TT Euro 5+ to me said if the service light isn't reset within a reasonable time that these bikes will go into Limp-In mode. Has anyone else heard or experienced this?

Pure BS. Mine was serviced 50km early for the 1500km service. When the icon came on at 1500
I didn't take the bike back for it to be reset. Now at nearly 9,000km and still going like a train.
I will have the service done as recommended at 10,000km and they can reset it then.

Yeah, it sounded fishy to me too. Do you know someone with a '25 Euro 5+ bike that's riding around successfully long after the service light was due for a reset? Thanks

Does your OBDStar require an annual subscription? Their website mentions a cost for updates and a subscription fee.

No annual subscription to use the device. IIRR you get a year of software updates for free, after that you pay the subscription if you want them. Also it can be used on multiple bikes with no extra fees, many you have to pay for a license for each bike.
