Where do I get custom intake rubbers with keihin carbs?
« on: August 30, 2025, 04:49:29 PM »
Hi, I have a 77 lemans motor and a set of aluminum intakes.  I need the rubber intake hose from manifold to 39mm keihin fcr.  Does anyone have a vendor recommendation for custom intake rubbers or part number?  The outer diameter of the keihin carb is 48mm,  thank you very much

Oh, the intake spigot is 44mm, so it’s 44mm to 48mm rubber step up.  Can’t seem to find one, thanks

I have used radiator hose before, that's what BMW airhead guys did back 40yrs ago. Not politically correct but works.

Your local hardware supply should carry a " no hub " connector in various pipe sizes that may fit the bill.  The rubber sleeve comes out and is pretty pliable.  A 1 1/2 no hub may work.

I used a BMW car radiator hose to mount PHF 30 mm carbs to intake stubs on a V65. The changed diameter at the end and fit perfectly. I had to buy two and cut the ends off. Back then they were about twenty bucks apiece. I don’t know the part number or what car they were used on so if you can get a parts guy to look for tapered radiator hoses you might find what you need. They told me they wouldn’t last, they were right. After thirty years they got hard, no longer pliable.

Also, how close should I place the carb to the intake?  Is the rubber from the no hub connector fuel proof? Thanks

Most no hubs are neoprene so they're suitable for petroleum, acids, refrigerants etc.
