Tri-King Guzzi powered three wheeler

I have been away from the Wildguzzi family for quite a long time, had to deal with a bought of cancer two years ago, thankfully it’s behind me now. For the past year I have been building my forever home with a garage / shop that meets all my wish lists. As I get closer to completion of the build I am getting an itch to take on a new project.
I have been interested in the Tri-King three wheeler kits out of the United Kingdom for a long time.
I don't have a donor Guzzi yet, would like to find a low mile 1100 or 1200 Sport or similar to start with.

I have never seen one in the flesh let alone drove (ridden?) one.

Anyone ever driven one?
What are your thoughts on them?
If you have built one would you do it again?

I got started with Guzzis having never ridden one and bought my 72 Eldorado project sight unseen as a basket case and that has led to a love affair with the brand and many restorations over the years, I guess what I am saying is I don’t worry about taking the plunge on a Tri-King but it would be great to hear from someone who has even limited experience with them.

I'd love to have one myself. Years ago a "barn fresh" one showed up at a Bikes & Breakfast event in Clifton, VA. I tracked down the owner and asked about buying it, but got the usual "I'm going to restore it one day" answer.

Jim: There was a fellow in Calgary about 10 years ago building Morgan replicas, I purchased all of the left over California parts that were not used in the builds. I do not have his contact info but you may be able to locate someone via Facebook etc. who may know of this dude.  DonG

    There are several 1100 Cali's for sale down here in Seattle WA, about 600 miles from you, Including my own low Mileage 1 owner pristine 03 EV Hydro from Moto Intl with warranty service records.  Good luck with your project.

Brevas and Norges seem to be the most common and least expensive. I prefer the 2V engine.

Triking was very helpful on the "1200 Ambassador" project I've built for a customer. There was no way I could have modified the Norge harness to work myself, so I sent it them and they did it. I wasn't aware of this vehicle. I thought you were building a Guzzi based Road Glide-like trike. Wish Guzzi would . But looking forward to seeing your build!

I am building a Morgan Super Sports replica from the 1930's. I started building from scratch from a set of B.R.A. CX drawings and planned the whole thing using Honda GL500 power train and mono shock swing arm.

I really wanted a Moto Guzzi motor, but my budget did not allow that.

Through a friend I recently obtained a crashed MG GRiSO 1100 2V for towing and storage fees. Luckily, damage is to the left side with only the valve cover marked. The Dash was destroyed, but after talking to TriKing they are going to modify my wiring loom to allow the engine to be used  in a car, and re-flash the ECU for better torque and smoothness.

Triking modified the Norge harness for the Ambassador project I'm working on. No dash necessary. I have two Beetle maps to choose from, thanks to Pete Roper, so I didn't have them reflash the ECU.

Moto Guzzi are a lot cheaper in the US - I bought an almost complete 2000 Jackal for $350 about 18 months ago.

Ref your comment about US prices, did you think I was elsewhere?

No disrespect, I sure Beetle does not deal with maps for increased weight operations. TriKing made it very clear that increasing torque helps counteract the increase in kerb weight. Smoothness increase is a bonus.

Sorry, the B.R.A. CX is almost unheard of in the US (I had to Google it), and in the above quote you use the UK version of "curb". So I assumed...
