We owned a lot of Fiat cars in the 1980’s and 1990’s. 124 Spider, X1/9, 850 Spider, 131 etc. They were all great cars. Plus a Yugo and a Maserati BiTurbo. The BiTurbo was a lousy car unless it was parked or going 100 mph.

These days, no Italian cars at all. Fiat has once again mostly left the US and I never cared to own an Alfa Romeo.

I was gonna invite this thread because I thought it didn't apply to me. I figured it was asking if I had an Alfa, Fiat, or Maserati.

But then realized it does apply to me.

I think every vehicle we've owned for 20-30 years has a cult following

Bikes:
Guzzis
Harleys
Ducati
Buell
BMWS

Cars/Trucks:
Jeeps
Land Rover
Subarus
Mini Cooper
Beetle and Cabriolet

Yup, all cults.

Then you might try a late model Alfa, because they are products in every way of Fiat engineering and manufacture.  Nothing to do with Alfa Romeo in the traditional sense.  The factory is in southern Italy (the only thing left at the Alfa factory is the museum)

If by having a taste for quirky Italian 2-wheelers follows to 4-wheelers, I submit this oddball I used to have:

Forgot, I also had this Italian oddball for a while as well:

20 Years ago I bought Offcamber (Kips) 1982 Alfa Romeo GTV6. I've done some upgrades over the hears including a Milano Verde 3.0 motor, full exhaust, and Bilstein shocks. I'd say Alfa's are very Guzzi like.

I've owned two of these over the years, these are the main reason my hair went white.  Lovely driving car, epic engine, but they had there "issues" and some i had to learn the hard way...  Rubber u-joints on the prop shaft that turns at engine speed have a limited life, but one must take care when replacing them as the prop shaft is balanced as an assembly so the central spline joint MUST be returned to its original position.... (oops).  and both of mine had rust issues around the tail lights an the rear deck lid.  top this off with a dash cover that liked to split....   YES SIR MAY I HAVE ANOTHER PLEASE...
Nothing much better than a Tannat from the Salta region.

Most of my cars have been of the somewhat unusual type. All manual transmissions.
A TR4 and then a TR6, A 73 Saab 99, a 1980 Peugeot 504, a 1984 Citroen CX20, several Datsun 510s and a Mazda 626.
These were all daily drivers for me.

Most of my cars have been of the somewhat unusual type.

I bought a new AMC Pacer. After a year or so it would randomly stop running. I had it towed back to the dealer numerous times and they replaced the ignition, coil, and various other components but were unable to pinpoint the problem. They had just taken on Renault so I traded the Pacer on a new Renault Le Car which rusted apart within 3 years. That was the low point in my car owning experience, it's been all up from then.
