In colledge I bought bikes to resell, so my 'owner list' would be a bit long - but the Pivotol ones: Those I can recall:

Started in '73 so 38yrs I guess?

Honda 50 Mini Trail - my 1st powered 2wheel ride

77 Kawasaki 400 - 1st street bike. Bought myself working 2 jobs in Colledge, learned to distance ride, dated girls (including the current one!), went to class - only bike I'm really nostalgic for

76 Kawasaki 900. Used as a touring bike with a big Windjammer, Calafia bags, & the "Cycle Sound" system that fit into the faring. Took this bike on my honeymoon

74 Kawasaki H2. Bought in a barn for $200. Power - just Wild assed power. WOW. Sold it, but promised Id get another - which I did years later

76 Guzzi T3. 1st Guzzi, bought to sell for $150 (not running, in 1986). Sold the ugly Pacifico faring that was on it for $100. Never intended to keep it - but fell in love with it 'cause it was so 'different'. Folks would come by to buy it, and I'd list off all of its idiosyncracies and refuse to budge on my too high price ($800 - dont laugh, it was Abilene, TX in '87)

84 Husky CR 250. Beautifully balanced Euro motocrosser. Had lotsa dirt bikes - this was the best. V hi quality, simple design, snappy sweet smelling 2 stroke engine.

89 Le Mans. Bought stateside and rode all over the E US. Shipped it to Italy in '99 when I came here. Rode it all over here - blew the engine up on it...twice. Got real good and engine building....

90 SP III. I didnt really WANT this bike. Got it to ride while I repaired my Sport1100, then ended up taking it over the Alps like...35 times. It was just SO COMPETENT I came to really appreciate it - kinda like an arranged marriage.

05 Kawasaki Concours. This is my current touring bike. It replaced the SP III for a variety of reasons, but is very much like it - an old, proven design, phenominally competent, dead reliable. At 40K it has 72 pass stickers on the windshield, and maintenance is done annually: change oil, adjust valves, sync carbs. Just enough to be fun, but not a burden at this very busy time of life.

Wow some of you have gone through a lot of bikes. I started riding at 18 in 73 with a 65 FLH Electraglide. Wore it out with a lot of local riding and a few cross country rides. It's now in my brothers hands to be resurrected once again. Bought a friends wrecked 60 Triumph Bonneville chopper in 77, still have many of the parts. There was too much of it broken so I bought my brand new 77 850 T3 FB in October of 77, Still have it and riding it again after many years of not riding.

Dale

Thought I'd add to the list my 2009 Suzuki GS500F bought new Feb. 2012.

So the list would be:

65 FLH Electraglide
60 Bonneville T120
77 850 T3 FB
09 Suzuki GS500F
 ;-T
1977 850-T3 FB
2009 GS500F

OK, I'll play, even though I'm a new rider:

In the mid-80's, I had an early 70's Yamaha 100cc enduro (don't remember the model) that I got for like $50 in non running condition.    I cleaned up the carb, put new points an a plug in and got it running.    My parents made me sell it (was < 16 at the time) when I got caught riding it on the street.

Fast forward 25 years to this past fall, I finally got my first (legal) street bike, and I guess I had some pent up desire for motorcycles.    I bought all these since this past Sept:

'09 V7 Classic (bought from foggy95)
'07 Kymco People S 250 (yes, it is a scooter)
'81 Honda XL185S (in real nice shape, likely selling soon)
'67 Honda CL90 (also likely selling once it is sorted a little more)
'75 Honda CB360 (runs/rides well, doing a minor resto on it)
'06 Breva 1100 (bought from KevM)

2017 V7III Special
1977 Le Mans
1974 Eldorado
2017 Triumph Thruxton R

1977(?)     Kawasaki KZ650..Had a great Windjammer fairing...bought used, paid cash cheap, sold cheap.  Most comfortable road bike I EVER had!

Interesting! I've just bought 2 1977 KZ650s, both complete. I'll take the best bits from each and make one pretty nice, original bike. Haven't ridden either yet due to winter (and planned work on the bike to be used) but I hope it's as comfy as you wrote  8)

1966 Bridgestone 90
1967 Suzuki 125
1967 Honda CB160
1968 Jawa 360
1972 Hodaka B100
1973 Kawasaki S3
1974 Kawasaki H1 500
1978 BMW R65
1968 Honda CB160
1981 Yamaha Virago 750
1989 H-D 883
2002 H-D 883
2002 Buell Cyclone
2006 Buell Ulysses
2004 Moto Guzzi V11 Sport
2008 Moto Guzzi Norge

Best sounding bike was the 2004 V11 Sport.  Most fun 1974 Kawasaki H1 500.  Most reliable the last six were all equal no problems.  Least likeable 1978 BMW R65.  Ugliest bike 1981 Yamaha Virago.  MY most favorite bike of all time 1974 Kawasaki Z1 900 which is not even on my list of owned bikes.  But I did ride one a lot when I worked at the Kawasaki dealer.
Relatively few riders are lucky enough to discover that there is a lot more to a lifetime of motorcycling enjoyment than just going fast. Those who do... become "motorcyclists".  The rest just happen to be riding a motorcycle.

1974 Kawasaki H1 500

Most fun 1974 Kawasaki H1 500.

Might it not be time for another one?   I'll bet it would still be fun!    Or have you "moved on" .... ?

Yes, but you are a lot younger than many if not most of those with longer lists.
