Dark hair, fairly petite?  Smart enough to be a math teacher?

I knew her in Bethesda, MD, but here's an interesting newspaper clipping:

It would have been 1970 when Dorcas was my math teacher in MD, so it fits pretty well.  I bet there aren't many Dorcas Hugheseseses in the world.

Nope , we were Juniors that year .

OK, so your Dorcas isn't my Dorcas, but I bet the newspaper article is about my Dorcas.

I named my boat Far Star after a starship in Issac Asimov's Foundation series. Like the name, use it for forums.

Started out as canuguzzi. I reminder to myself to get one. When I did and rode it home, I realized that I had been riding motorcycles all this time; the Norge seemed to have so much going on I figured I'd have to pilot the thing.

Several years ago I was part of a team researching ways to use genetically modified plants to help alleviate poverty in third world countries.

We had done some promising research in the area of developing genetically modified giant zucchini with the capability to transmute solar energy into slow but high torque movement.

We hoped to enable the poor to grow them for use as farm equipment. Our goal was to develop the Recumbent Modified Zucchini. We called ourselves RMZ One.

Some wealthy investors contacted us and made it clear that they would prefer that the project not succeed, since cheap labor was essential to their business model. They offered the team a handsome price to dump the project.

My team mates accepted the offer. I declined my share of the profits, donating it to charity.

And I chose for my user name, No RMZ One.
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Both Iain M Banks (Culture series) and Iain Banks (offbeat fiction) are one of my favorite authors. Shame he died last year.

NW PA, not real close to you. What type of music are you talking about anyway?

When I can get a couple guys together, we'll jam electric blues and blues based rock.  Strictly amateur, and mistakes ignored.

Heck , mistakes make things interesting  ;D
BPD , I was referencing Fire Sign Theater , no idea where playing electric bass leaves you , at least you aren't a drummer  ;D

Oh, I have no clue about the Firesign Theater quote. I thought you were talking about an acoustic bass, with it being violin-shaped and all. Yeah I'm not a drummer, but I was told once that the bass player and the drummer should be best friends as we're both part of the percussion section

Well then there's a chance I would be largely ignored throughout the jam session.  ;D

No, I'm sure you'd be better than the rest of us.   :D  The bass player and drummer have the opportunity to work together, that's for sure.  Decades ago I got a chance to play with a pro bass player and a near-pro drummer a couple times.  It was easy to sound good because if I screwed up, I could just stop and let them keep the music going, then after a while join in again.

The quote was in reference to a stand up  :D  Hey , don't feel bad , I was a trombone player , kind of the electric bass of the brass instruments  ;D No one notices us until we make a mistake , and then ... :D Sounds like you and TJ should get together and make some music , mistakes and all .
