I've been a Bogart fan since I was a teenager.   So I picked this out a number of years ago, someone else at the time had falcon with an O in it.   So if you spot me on other forums (advrider, triumphrat, etc), it'll likely be this same nn.

Occasionally people do ask me, "Are you from Malta?!"    Um no, it was just a movie.  And not even Bogie's best, truth be told, lol...

Years ago a friend that lived in the apartment across from me called me "kevdog" because I seemed to date a lot of ladies back in the day.  Guess he saw them coming and going.  Gone are the days...

...born to a real life crooner's (er, singer's) name, though no relation.

Unless inebriated, I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. If inebriated, I'm not sure I could carry the bucket.

When I signed on the board I was an engineer in the B-2 program (stealth bomber). I have since transitioned to B-52 so should I change my name to buffryder? That sounds a little wierd.

I'm a licensed Captain. 100 ton - All waters. "CaptainKen" with a "C" was taken by others on the various nautical forums as you may have guessed, but "KaptainKen" was available. Mis-spelling "Captain" makes a nice alliteration and I have used it on various boards and forums for many years.

On nautical forums many consider me a "go to guy" for information about the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. I made a video about it that continues to be popular:

Tobit:  My favorite book of the Bible, is one of several books of the Catholic Deuterocanonicals, aka the Apocrypha.

Cliff Notes:
Tobit is the blind father of Tobias.  Tobias travels to Media to rescue and marry Sarah, and reclaim his father's fortune.  Before leaving, Tobit prays for a traveling companion to keep his son safe and God's Archangel Raphael descends, incognito, and travels with Tobias, advising him on how to rescue Sarah.  Upon Tobias' and Sarah's return, Raphael reveals himself as the Archangel then cures Tobit's blindness.

I'm Roman Catholic and Archangel Raphael is my patron Saint. Yep, I picked a heavy hitter.  I wear his medallion.  The traveller.  The guardian.  The restorer of sight.

I travel, I've worked in "Media" for 30 years, ride an Italian (Catholic?) motorcycle, have terrible eyesight am blind in one eye, I rescue damsels in distress and restore fortunes.   ;)

Tobit.  It kinda fits.

I believe the origin of my name goes back to old England where my ancestors raised and harvested wheat. Wheat takers.

Twhitaker---interesting...I'm of the Ohio Whitakers (and Kentucky Whitakers.)  That's pretty cool!

My User name is an ode to my 1954 Buick Roadmaster, but all girlied up...'cause I'm a girl.

Mine relates back to my first network userID - Novell system used the initials of the first and middle names along with the first five letters of the last name.  I've used it for years.

My name is Travis.  People who just meet me call me Trav and after 5 minutes they just start calling me Travman.

Some useless piece of information for you: Trav means 'trot' (like horses do) and Man means 'mane' (like horses carry on their neck). Just thought you'd like to know ;D

Inspired by the Guzzi I owned the longest. 81' V1000G5 bought new and ridden for 27 years. Sold it to my boss last year to finance the wife's MP3. Still see her at work from time to time.

I lived in and around South Louisiana, off and on, for the first 55 years of my life.
God Bless Sout' Lou'siana, fer sure:  best food and coffee in the known universe, and the people are some of the finest you'll ever meet.  (Even them Smiths in Nort' Louisiana -- a.k.a. East-East-Texas, or West-Mississippi, depending -- are, Frankly, serious good people.)

But there ain't no mountains.  Highest in the state is about 567 feet; it's in some guy's pasture in the north-central part of the state, and even the reddish-necks of that part of the state know better than to call it a mountain.

So when I moved to North Idaho in '99, all a'drool over being in a state with more than 6000 named mountains, I web-nicknamed myself Mountain Bob, mostly to remind my former ATV and dirtbike buddies back in Mountain-Not Land that there are other options, one of which I was willing to rub their noses in.

Thus re-named proudly "Mountain Bob," the carryover to Wildgoose Chase was a natural.  Ain't gotta be on a dirtbike to ride these mountains, and ain't gotta have pavement to mountain-ride a big Goose.

So Mountain Bob it is.

I'll also answer to MBob or mb  if if either of us is wound up tight

in that wonderful V-11 space known as Third-ByGawd-Gear.

When I was studying Czech in the Army, my instructor dubbed my Delta 88 the "cruise-vuz", vuz being car in Czech. My wife knowing this, thought the Calvin  should be the cruisey-guzzi (ne-gootsie).

I earned the nickname Sluggo back in junior high(?) from my parents for my ability to procrastinate on almost everything.  Hence, I moved like a Slug.  Since then, I've used it as my forum names.  As for the cartoon character Sluggo, he & I seem to have a lot in common.  His favorite pastime is napping.
