You ain't kiddin'. The first few times were certainly weird for me lol. Now it's like second nature.

I thought about doin' the sidestand mod to get rid of the "automatic" feature, but I figured I'd leave it since it's just another quirky feature on a quirky bike.

Its called your left hand reach down extend stand while sitting on bike lean bike onto sidestand not hard really.

That seems like an unnecessary amount of work. I just use my left foot. It's even easier.  ;)

If your riding primarily consists of riding in Chicagoland, I'd recommend the V7.

A V7C is a much better bike for urban riding.

That's a huge :+1. I'd imagine the Sport to be nothing short of torture to ride often in the Chicago area. This bike does not like slow, stop-and-go riding. At all.

Thanks, guys. I'm about 30mi north of the city along the lake, it while it would consist of some city and some suburban rides, I'm thinking it would also include a bunch of back road runs to Lake Geneva too.

I just love the look of the V11's. But I also like the V7 and B12. Ugh. Guess I will have to try them all :)

Anyone here done any mods to make the bike more comfortable on a longer two up trip ?
Hope I'm not committing sacrilege by asking.
I would be interested in hearing of discreet easily  reversable mods, such as different saddle, bar risers, etc>

It's also coming with another full stainless system and a seperate chip called an Epron.
 ???
I've had bikes a long time but this is all a foreign langauge to me.
Could anyone shed some light on this.

I sure know nothing of these matters, but you'll get a lot of hits if you search here for "eprom".  Bet that's what the dealer was trying to say.  Of course, it won't help - "eprom" more or less means "chip", so it adds nothing to what you already knew.

Do I have to?  Can't I just take my '85 California II to Moto International and ask if there's a chip upgrade yet?

Up to you of course, but that is a stunner.

Still, the bodywork of the early spine frames is so Italian seductive that even in a non-operating state, it makes it worth it to own one.

When the Ducati 916 came out I remember reading a road test report where the journo said "even if it only did 30mph and went down the road like a pogo stick I'd still want one"

I don't really have a recommendation, but when my current battery goes, I'm thinking of replacing it with one of those ultra-light Shorai batteries. It couldn't hurt to remove 10 lbs from the upper tail of the bike.

You can easily eliminate one batterie. Bike starts and runs easily on 1x 9Ah

in black (in earlier days)

in red (without rear fairing)

in scrap (Wanted an other color anyway! :-) )

The injected models only have one battery. I always thought the dual battery setup of the carb models was a bit interesting... and pointless. Anyone know why they had two?
