It couldn't possibly rain as hard as it did last year in Elkader and that didn't slow anybody's fun down AFAIK...had a great time socializing under the pavilions...and a hot, muggy day turned downright cool and comfortable...

Concerning the Indian site tour. It appears that I am not going to be able to arrange a tour for us on Friday. So...my understanding is that a weekly tour is done every Saturday from 10:30-1:00 for $10 per person. I will find out more details concerning where to meet and how the tour is actually done. Saturday weather looks good.
GliderJohn

Bev and I would appreciate attending the tour.  Please let us know.  It will help us firm up our arrival plans.

The weather forecast is calling for T storms in the afternoon in Cedar Vale . You Midwestern guys know to keep a weather eye on conditions , at the same time these storms are normally moving pretty fast . Don't head into a super cell , it will move out of the way before long . Well , normally anyway  There was a time just West of OKC where I spent the night in a concrete car wash thinking it would stop storming , about 5:30 AM I gave up and got a room . That was in the Fall however when conditions are slower to change .

Travel safe , we'll keep the light on for ya  :thumb:

Glider John:  I’m very much interested in a Saturday tour of the Lost City of Etzanoa.

I’m just hoping we don’t have to battle a horde of Nazis looking for something really, really important.  I hate Nazis.

We plan to be there Thursday or Friday, depending on the weather.   I don't want the trailer to get beat up with hail.  I need to start up the EV and get her on the road.

I just picked up Dusty's requested brew.  Also smoked a couple of racks of St Louis cut ribs.  Hoping the weather on Saturday will allow for riding.

Yep!

Decided to leave this evening to miss the weather in the morning.  Made 200 mostly dry miles before stopping.

Appears I will have a window for departure in about 30 minutes , should arrive by 5:30 or so . Don't know what it is about this rally that brings the floods  My understanding is that the park is already draining , Cedar Vale is in the clear .

Once again , everyone travel safe , see you there  :thumb:

True that!  I left Tucumcari, NM on 54 and drove thru some big storms.  I’m in Withita now at 2:48 and it’s dry.  Sorry I cannot stop by the festivities. Heading home to MN for the funeral of a friends wife.

Dave just called me and said Kansas 166 eastbound is also closed.   Everyone needs to check their routes carefully.

Anyone got a good link for road closure info for Oklahoma and Kansas?

I will get more info and post again later. Does not appear that it will affect those approaching from the East

the weather looked pretty bad when I posted last night.  If the interstate is closed, it's hard to think that the secondary roads are better.

The good news is that Thursday and Friday should be dry.   So we should have good turn out over the weekend.

Travelers be attentive.
