Make sure you ask for all parts they removed for this kind of money, their justification for pricing it.

I sold my bugs 15 years ago so he could keep his, and I'm tired of waiting to hear that happy chirp issuing from the garage.
:thewife:

The aforementioned bug saw daylight for the first time in years!

I climbed a tree that the kids (the unicorn isn't mine) said couldn't be climbed.  Yeah, I'm a monkey.

Played street hockey with the fam & a neighbor unicorn girl.

Hubs & I rode the scooters all over the neighborhood because it was sooo dang nice out!

It was a good day. :thumb:

Hello Nick,

It certainly looks like you are enjoying a wonderful coastal hiking path ... in February!  Here at home it is -13 deg C, with more deep snow tomorrow.

Cheers,    Peter (from Creemore)

Went for a walk near Ladybower reservoir in the Peak District with my best, but sadly deluded, Triumph riding mate.

Decided that discretion was the better part of valour up near the top of Win Hill as the snow came down and the visibility dropped and aimed for the bottom of the valley on paths that were six inches deep in mud

This is me  before the vis dropped off

Had a great day though, topped off with steak and kidney pie in the York Bridge Inn

We made a pact that one day we'll get to the top of Win Hill on  sunny day!!

Amazing how nice Cornwall is in the wintertime.

Fay and I just got back from Cornwall ourselves.  Beautiful part of the world for sure.

Rocky coastal trails and scenery - and you're not kidding about your heart better be in good shape, there are some narrow and STEEP bits, especially from Mousehole to Lamorna Cove

Old pubs out in the middle of nowhere that you just walk up on, go in, and have lunch and a local ale

or a Cornish cream tea

Old towns and buildings and fishing villages

You know us, no GPS, but the corner of a 25,000:1 Ordnance Survey map sticking out of ones pocket

Fantastic trip, we spent two weeks and could have spent 6 and not been there too long .

Sucked, but thanks for asking.

Circuit breaker for well house power continues to intermittently trip with no obvious cause...yet. Translation:   No running water for three days. (Gawd----is this glam-camping?)

The thought process is familiar...eliminat e one thing at a time...disconnect the underground line from the pole to the well house and run an external line..what happens?

Disconnect the underground line from the well house to the pump and run an external line. What happens? Check the pressure regulator function and replace, replace circuit breakers, replace pump motor controller...etc.

Today, though, seems the well pump has permanently given up the ghost. I sure hope it was the cause...and not an effect!

Going to have to stop at the neighborhood Petro for a shower before showing up for work tomorrow...and hope the well guys show up.

Worst of all, I've shut shop power off to remove it from the equation. Winter bike maintenance not making a lot of progress......

Although it seems that Cornwall and Devon may actually go to war over that question, I must admit that I'll take it either way and be deliriously happy, especially after a long walk on the moors.   We took a long walk on Dartmoor and got lost in the fog, as is proper.

I'm afraid that if blind-tested I wouldn't be able to tell the order of the cream and jam, so I'll have to leave it with people of more refined tastes ...

Just got back from a 3 day jaunt around the sort of top of the South Island. I wanted to see the Kaikoura Coast road which they managed to sort of open in time for Christmas, I had been closed for over a year after a series of earthquakes decimated the road and rail link to Picton The alternate route to the Cook Strait ferry added another 140kms ans about 3 hours to the trip. Also wanted to check out the damage to Westport and the road around Punakaiki which got hammered when that massive moon we just had coincided with tropical storm Fahi and a massive on-shore wind. The resulting storm surge was devastating.

There is still a massive amount of work to be done on it but it should be great when it is all finished. I went Christchurch - Picton - back to Blenheim-Westport - Greymouth - Reefton and back to Christchurch with a few side trips thrown in. Didn't keep track of the distance but it would have been a bit over 1200kms. Guzzimodo ran like a Swiss watch and turned in 64.6mp(imp)gallon. Weather was great and a good trip all round, in spite of the numerous holdups for road works.

Thanks for all the travel reports and great pix.

I drove up to Jackson to spend a couple of days skiing with my daughter and her roomies. Decent snow, flat light, very fast nonstop cruising on Jackson's interminable steeps. My first good workout of winter season.

Cleo and I are are now on identical skis (hers are a bit softer but the same length, shape and materials) so we're carving identical 40-mph turns. Intensely great fun to dance through the storm with the offspring.

Drove the van via Colorado 139 and US 191 through Flaming Gorge. 139 is 40 miles of seriously steep and twisted two-lane between Loma and Dinosaur, and I'll have to go back on the Mille. The Flaming Gorge drive is a hoot this time of year, but in summer will be clogged.

If you dont mind driving hail and strong cross winds (which oddly I dont) it was great. Lands End yesterday. Exmoor today. Excellent chilly riding on super roads that are even paved.

A few years ago we hosted Austin and Anne on their cross Canada / Alaska tour. Some of you may have met them at the Ontario rally in Lavigne.

They just teturned the favour. I stayed a couple of nights with them, then today Austin led me (in the pouring rain) on a tour of some of the Lake Districts finest roads.

Now I've moved on to Scotland,  making my way up the west coast between snow showers. Some fun huh? No really...it is

A very simple start to the day this morning. Got up, made coffee, and flipped on an old Andy Griffith show.  In teasing, Ellie had sprayed Andy with some perfume while he was at the drug store. Of course Opie walks in and has all the innocent kid questions that lead to more and more embarrassment. Then Andy heads back to the jail where Barney gives it to him as well. Crap, I couldn't stop laughing.

Yep a good beginning to the day!

John Henry

As to the original question of how WAS, it's off to a good start and I have no doubt it will be a fantastic day when it is all over. (Dusty knows but I have sworn him to secrecy.)
