Lannis- great to hear about your day. Some of my projects are pre-need. Most aren't. some drag out for years for a variety of reasons. The current record from first call to actual commission/finished stone is 13 yrs for stone I finished last Monday. Stone arrived in studio around the first of May.Anything that can be done to smooth the road for your successors, from cleaning up & eliminating your stuff to finances/legal to cemetery, is something everyone needs to do. It doesn't have to be elaborate, just done.
Yep. Lord knows, even though we have had a very friendly and cooperative family, and my brother and sister and I were 100% together on caring for my mother at the end, and disposing of her property afterwards, there are still a LOT of things that need to be done so that your family will think "Wow, I'm sure glad he took care of that. What a guy!" once you're gone (if that sort of thing matters to you ).1) Make sure that any insurance or investments (IRAs, annuities, etc) you own have very clear beneficiaries OR joint owners, so that nothing has to be done to "transfer" it with the accompanying hassle and taxes to someone else.2) Once you're at the point where other people are helping you with your daily business, like paying bills and such, make your bank accounts and car titles joint with you and whoever is helping. Again, that way, when you're gone, no one has to do anything, they just carry on and leave your name off the checks when they order more.3) Make sure you have a clear will and standing orders (like Tex has done) for if you can't make decisions for yourself. Mine says that if I can still communicate, even if it's just nodding or winking, to keep me going until I say so. If I CAN'T communicate, unplug it all and let the old body wind down. I know a guy who set up his wife at home with IVs and such, and she lay there twitching and screaming for 2 years, completely out of it. I can't imagine a worse hell on earth for both of them, even though he felt like he "was doing the right thing". Believe me, it's the best thing you can do for the people who have to deal with you and your stuff after you're gone!Lannis

Great day , despite learning I have been exposed . Dusty
Some guy in a trench coat flashed you, or you mean - here? I thought you were staying hunkered down with minimal contact? Hope for the best here.
Our daughter and youngest grand daughter have been sick for a few days so they were tested yesterday and came back negative today. GliderJohn
I've lost one vet buddy already , and another is on the edge . But that isn't the point here . Dusty
Yep. I was in the hospital for 10 days and $79,000+. Still can't breathe right. Take care everyone.
The virus . A girl my sister works with couldn't stay out of the casinos and came to work sick . We are scheduling tests . Dusty
Good Luck with the tests Dusty and your sister too
Bled the rear brake on the Norge again today (only lasted 600 miles since last time) then took it on a test ride up a scenic canyon on the outskirts of town. Currently we and the toyhauler are parked in Vernal Utah for a month or so till its cool down enough to go back to Texas.
Those little tiny sticks are going to be the structure that holds something up 1000' in the air ... ?
Well that's the plan at any rate. You would be surprised at how strong a structure like this can be.The above is the same basic structure loaded to 6 Gs. Yeah, he designed full span flaperons, but the ribs, spars, fittings, etc. are the same.I thought you were a model airplane guy, Lannis?
