Rear drive install ..75 850T
« on: March 17, 2015, 11:32:53 AM »
Im getting ready to install a fresh rear drive .  And as it says in Gouziology the fill ./level plug is too low on this deep sump unit .
So , should a guy fill this on the bench before bolting it .to the swingarm ?  340CC and 20 cc moly?     right ?.

Also if this was already bolted up and in the future a person wanted to change oil do you take.the drive off .to .change oil or what.

Just wondering in Northern Wisconsin

Not really . The Eldo had that problem. Look in guzziology it tells  you what to look for and how to measure to verify.
You could measure to correct amount  of fluid and not worry  about the level hole.

never use the level hole. drain and fill from measuring cup. if you need to check, use a zip tie thru the fill plug hole.

This information reaches me 35 years too late to do me any good. But I guess in the future I will measure all my fluids and observe their performance re the leveler hole as a practice.
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

This.

No matter whether the level plug is located correctly or not, I still don't use it.

Besides that that level hole is one of those extremely easy to strip out bs-terds- best to just not use it.
