New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
I think this bike is beautiful and I'd like to find one to replace the Goldwing.
Bob,Have you rode one? I could not replace my Wing with one as much as I like the 1400. Too much buffeting over the 1400's windshield at 60 MPH+. I'd also have to have the seat rebuilt to move me back further. Not worth it considering I've already got the Wing sorted out with an F4 windshield, Ultimate King seat, Helibars & Traxxion kit.
I wonder if I wouldn't just buy an Indian?
Are 1400 jugs as obtrusive to the rider as 1100 Cali's are?
(Jug - leg interference?) Not in my experience.
I've got Pegs on the Jackal, and I really enjoy them...ironically, until I'm on the highway....then I find I'm fighting to keep them on the pegs. The wind wants to throw them back, so i'ts much more relaxing on the regular pegs. I've got a 34" inseam so they wrap around the jugs pretty well. Less obtrusive would still be welcome, however.
At 6'5", my answer is YES. Looking to modify my seat rearwards for more legroom. Doesn't need much, but could definitely use another inch or so.Joe
I was thinking maybe, since we're not touring like we used to, the 1400 could take the place of the EV and the Wing. Two bikes for one. Your thoughts on this?????
I'm hearing that the California maybe a thing of the past. Is this the case and, if so, Why, whats the plan????
Just looking at that beautiful beast makes me wish I was into cruisers!Bob
Whenever I've thought that way in the past (with other pairs of bikes), I was wrong.
Road trip tomorrow. (Cabin Fever)Going to State College, Pa. to look at Urals and then on to Europa Macchina Inc. South of Harrisburg, Pa to talk with Walter Roman about the 1400 Touring on their floor. Any body have knowledge/experiences with this dealership?
At the end of the day the differences are ergos and power delivery. If there ergos don't work for you, the limiting factor is how much they can be changed. If the power delivery (putting the emphasis on high torque and less peaky wind out delivery) doesn't work for you, yeah, then forget about it.But unless you're carving pegs on CARC, then you might be surprised how capable something like the Cali 1400 is in the twisties.
Thanks, Kev mDone, although it's not showing up in my "sent" list. ?????
