Lucky you! We got 20 centimetres of snow over the last two days here.

May I ask how tall are you and what your inseam is? I took my Corbin "as is" because the sales person was adamant that I should try it out first before asking to have the drivers seat raised. I am sure it will be fine but would be curious to know if your thoughts on it?

5'10" with a 31 in inseam.  Yeah, you need to be careful about raising the seat unless you are pretty tall.  Corbin seats tend to be a little wider, which changes your reach to the ground.

At 6 foot with a 32 inseam I am sure I will be fine then. Thanks again for your input.

Hi, have you decided to buy a Corbin seat and if so, are you thinking of selling your seat? I am trying to decide on which Corbin to buy. I will likely be riding solo 90% of the time so I may pick up the gunfighter too and buy a stock two seater for when the mood strikes the missus. That being said, if your seat is for sell, I may be interested.

I just bought a leftover 2014 Moto Guzzi V7 Racer and though I love the suede seat, OEM seats aren't the most comfortable for long distance riding. Anyone else find any other options for the V7? Finally, one last question, Corbin doesn't seem to list the V7 Racer as an option for their gunfighter!? I know that the OEM seats are interchangeable on all V7's. Does anyone have any experience either way with Corbin seats on the V7R?

I need an all day kind of seat so any advice, suggestions, etc. would be great. Have a good day.

Bringing up the Corbin/V7 thread again.  Sorry to the couple of you that asked me questions that went unanswered.

I'll be keeping by OEM rebuild shown in the photo, even if I do get another saddle.  If I get a leather Corbin I'd use my rebuild for daily use (sitting in the sun all day at work) and the Corbin for pleasure riding.  I'm still thinking of getting the Corbin for 2 reasons- the Corbin will have firmer foam and the true café racer bump/butt curb.  I really like the look of my rebuild and it is much wider than the stock, but after some miles the foam could have been firmer/denser (two Sargents and a Russell Day Long on other bikes have taught me this), and I really should have had the more defined bump built into it.  I've got a good size windshield, but at higher speeds the café racer bump would sure be nice to lock me in position against the headwind.  Especially if I re-install my Dart Marlin screen during the summer.  I'm tall in the upper body and my torso makes a great wind catcher to push me rearward on the seat.

The cost of my rebuild was north of $400, pretty reasonable for a one-off custom rebuild.  If I ever do another local rebuild I'll now know how to ask about foams.

So, with springtime riding upon us, any of you V7/Corbin owners have any extended use updates for those of us still sitting on the fencepost?

Thanks,
Steve.

I bought the Corbin solo gunslinger in the end and just recieved it last friday. However, I am picking up my bike in just under two weeks from the dealer. Soooo, I'll happily post pics and and a small review of the seat itself once both have been joined in cycling bliss...  :bike-037:

EDIT: I should note that I had a duo Corbin seat for a Suzuki Intruder 1400 years ago and it worked beautifully! Easily the best seat on the market, though I could live without the customer service coming out of the Cali office.

Corbin and V7 ll Stone
« Reply #64 on: April 28, 2016, 03:48:53 PM »
Hello, all.

If this has been mentioned before, I missed it.
But I just received my Corbin Gunslinger saddle for my V7 ll Stone. It's absolutely beautiful.
Too bad it doesn't fit. When the seat lock pin is in place, there is a 1" gap between the seat and the tank.
Does anyone know if the V7 and the V7 ll use a different size seat pan?

Thanks.

Bummer!  I'll be watching this thread.  I really want that seat.

When I received mine I noticed a small gap as well, however I assumed it was due to the leather belt on my Racer:

If you cannot see the gap so well, I have other pics via a video I made of the day I picked her up. Specifically fast forward to 0:28,  0:38 seconds and 1:01.

You can see the lip of the tank where the front of the should be flush with it but it is no where near as large a gap as 1 inch. Ill take off my leather belt today and see if that fixes the gap.

Could the problem be due to the fact that the V7II's engine is tilted forward and hence, minor changes were made to the frame as well that would allow for such a gap in the first place? I have seen this seat on other V7's with no gap/issues, etc...

I can see where a slight change may have happened with the upgraded frame of the -II.

However, I must ask.  Have you checked to see if the seat latch is adjustable where it mounts to the frame?

I've seen them with slotted holes on some bikes, in the past...

Just a thought.  My bike is not handy to look at, right now...
