The guys at AF1 say the sound is 'Harley level' without the DB killers so I may just leave well enough alone.
judging from your list of 2014-15 bikes you either hit the lotto, had a near death experience or just retired. jealousy abounds. I want them all.
If you want a sound halfway between with and without the dB killers in, why not remove just one?(Let the pouncing begin)
Mike, I had not thought of shortening the length of the dB killers. Hummmmmmmm Thanks for the idea.John Henry
You'll use appreciably more fuel for less performance if you take them out. Pete
I didn't think it was possible for a Cali 1400 to use MORE FUEL. If that was the case I'd need to pull a tanker trailer behind the bike.
Worse than the old Valkyrie..........
I'm getting 40 to 45 on a regular basis. 45 was on the interstate running 70 on 89 octane. If you're getting in the 20's, you have something wrong|
Why? Less back pressure, less restriction?
Because of the cam timing and the way the 8V pumps coupled with the closed loop trimming situation and target parameters.
There is no such thing as 'Suck'. Changing the behaviour of both intake and exhaust on the 8V heads with the cams they run and the narrow included valve angle has a serious effect on how much charge transition occurs. An increase in the uncombined oxygen in the exhaust is noted by the ECU which assumes a lean condition and pours in more fuel. Fuel that is wasted de to the transition and performance is diminished due to poor cylinder fill and VE.
Did you find 7th grade math and science particularly challenging?
So we are running superchargers. See the sucking 'intake'.
I've also been thinking about changing the mufflers of my Custom, but does anybody make anything SHORTER? The stock length is so long...Joe
