Finished her a couple of months ago, fired up with a roar. Love the Lafranconi music  Haven't been here for a while. I assume there are a lot of new Guzzista on the board - Hi to everyone! :boozing:

The silver version is a bit more rare than the red Lario, but I've learned there are yellow, green, blue and black ones out there too :cheesy:

Ciao

Wow, a real beauty!  Front on shot would be good.  Is the paint shiny or does it have a slight matte finish?

If I could own only 1 Guzzi, it would be a Lario.  :thumb:  Too bad the Lario mechanicals aren't bulletproof.    Never seen a yellow 1 but there are white 1s too.

Welcome back Brian. Wondered what you have been up to!

Love the Lario. :thumb:  It was some years ago when I saw a white Lario, and I thought at the time it looked a fairly nice bike. It was that one that actually that first got me looking at Guzzis.

Ohh yeah - The last couple of years is was parked in our shared office space in our home. She was quite happy to see it go! I've dreamt about a silver Lario for years, and decided to rebuild one when the oppotunity to save a frame i Holland, retrieve tank, panels and fenders all painted in Italy, and a lot of other parts in Germany, UK, Sweden and Denmark. I had a few spare engines and tranmissions, so the decision was easy. I have left some patina to shows she's a mature lady, other parts are restored or new. This was just one dream among many to come true

True - forgot the white ones  :cheesy:
Yeah - the Lario has it's flaws, some remediation possible to postpone the issues, but bulletproof - well the jury isn't back yet. I did the mods on this one, and I still haven't seen it fail on my other Lario, but I haven't put 50-70k on a Lario yet. Chuck has put up the miles, and it looks like stem caps needs looking into, other supplier needed, and cam shaft still isn't up to the job. Perhaps a rebuild camshaft with a more intense hardening than what was used by Guzzi back in the 80's would improve stability.

For some reason I love the Lario the best over even the 750 Targa, which has superior handling to the Lario. There is just something to the Lario that make it loveable in spite of its flaws  :azn:  Looks is definitely one of its assets, and the bratty engine.

Thanks guys!! All you comments are highly appreciated. I now have two bikes left to restore, and then I guess it's time for full time riding and maintenance. Had my share of old geese to save from scrap piles and parting out. This last one and the V75/4 was actually saved from the scrap pile and rebuild almost bolt by bolt with parts picked up al over Europe.

The mirrors are carbon or carbon lookalikes  :cheesy:
Here's a few more  :gotpics:

Ciao

Kinda like this pic  :cheesy:

I agree. I have other choices when I open the door to the Guzzi Garage (tm)  but I almost always pick the Lario. The Monza handles better, the MZ handles a lot better, but as you said.. there is just something about the Lario.
The only other silver one I've seen is Melissa's, and it is very nice in the flesh. I've never seen a white one, but if I decide to "restore" mine, it'll probably be white.

Hej Iceblue,

Good to see you're back online! The bike looks really good, would be fun to meet up some time when I get some license plates on my bike. Where are you based in Denmark? Doesn't look like København K

I based on Sydfyn, (South Fuenen) When I'm in Denmark at least

The silver ones are rare, even more rare are the silver ones with a drone engine or a briggs and Stratton engine, kind of the same thing, just different valve stuff
