best gas siphon ?

I've been looking for a decent gas siphon to keep around esp. for use with the small generator. I see on ebay that Flo N Go seems to be the most popular brand. I want one I can transfer from cars to containers as well as moving from 5 gallon to easier to handle 2 gallon containers.
What you say out there?

We got one at the shop, it uses a pcv valve type ball in the hose .

When you shake it back & forth it starts the flow going, pretty slick!! I have no idea who makes it. you connect a hose to each side of it.

I love my cranky pump from Aerostitch. Use it for my small engines and carry it on the bike.

PS: just looked through the catalog quick and did not spot it, it may not be available anymore..? There is an e-siphon(?).

PPS: googled Cranky Pumps and it took me to it on the Aerostitch site- $42 pricey but worth it to me..."best" being the key word.

I use a big washer made from a scrap of inner tube.  It fits tightly on my siphon hose, and is big enough to cover the car's gas tank filler tube.  With the siphon tube inserted through the washer into the gasoline in the car's tank, I hold the washer against the filler opening and blow a big breath into the tank, then while still holding the washer in place, put the outer end of the tube in the can to be filled.  Pressure in the car's tank then starts the siphon if I don't delay too long.

A piece of closed cell foam around 1/2" thick is an improved version of the washer.  Its stiffness makes it easier to seal to the car's filler tube.

I use a outboard motor squeeze primer bulb and a length of hose on each end.

I used to do that often in the days of leaded gas, and never thought much about it.  No wonder I can't solve the Schroedinger equation.

Cranky Pump looks nice, but is spec'ed to pump only 1 gal/2.5 minutes, too slow for transferring fuel to/from a generator.

Just calculating that out, that means the generator would be consuming 24 gallons per hour to outrun the pump!

Best siphon ever: 

has a glass marble in the copper end - you can hear it working even if the fluid is clear.  Big flow;  just shake it and it works.
