New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
I can't believe this guy is a motorcycle road tester writer. It doesn't seem like he's ridden a lot of different bikes.
Ok, so to answer your edit, and maybe I should have addressed this in the first response, but why are you under the impression a motorcycle writer must have necessarily ridden a large variety of bikes? For the record I get the impression Lemmy is a fan on Harley and similar styled V-twins (mostly American), but does indeed have experience with other brands and types.Maybe not the depth of experience that one used to find I'm Cycle World or Motorcyclist editors, but Lemmy and CT are a lot newer to the market then those (and perhaps more of a breath of fresh air).Anyway I find your comment to be the equivalent of wintering why a rock musician might not have experience with jazz or classical. It wouldn't necessarily have an bearing on his craft.AFAIK CT isn't trying to be Cycle World or Motorcyclist, and that's probably a good thing because those are tired and played out formats.
Well, for that kind of money I'd probably opt for a Ducati XDiavel for my next cruiser.
You've certainly given me some good reasons why I shouldn't waste my time reading CT and Lenny. I'd like to read a ride writer who's ridden more than just a few Harleys. The nuances between a Classic and Limited don't really interest me. Especially from a guy that seems shocked that a bike will rev over 6k rpms.
Gotta have a 21 and no front brake. .
When are you guys going to take delivery of your new MG?
Just rode the new MGX-21 at Sturgis introduction. All I can say is "WOW". Might be time to liquidate my collection for one new scoot.
When I bought my Touring at the end of 2014 the choice was the Touring or the Custom and I fell in love with the Touring, buying with no test ride and only relying on reviews that turned out to be spot on. I tend to be practical which I have since found most other Guzzi owners to be. The wind protection and bags were good for me. The Custom seemed like more of a muscle bike as well as the Audace which is cool but not my personal taste. I love the Eldorado but would have probably still purchased the Touring for wind protection and bags. When the MGX 21 came out I thought it was way too far out but the more I see it the more I like it, but still not my style. All the bikes are obviously on the same basic platforms with trails different mostly because of the different front wheels. It seems that the bike is well liked for a variety of reasons including handling, power plant and all that carbon fiber!. The funny thing is that they make it like this power plant and handling is all new, like they never rode a Touring which has great handling, the same power plant, better wind protection and bigger bags. Less style but more practical. All of this is obviously personal preference and variety is a great thing. I think its great that Moto Guzzi is finally actually trying to market something with some degree of effort and hopefully will reap the rewards. It's hard to switch someone's brand loyalty including mine but they definitely got some loyalists thinking.
