So, what is it with shaft drive bikes that demands their 80/90 be changed out every 6000/10000 miles, when manual transmission cars barely call for changing the hypoid oil at all? Do the bikes really suck up more moisture than a car? Or does the tranny grind up that much more metal because of shift dogs vs synchronizers? Or does this lube change simply make us feel better about how we treat our machines? (And I'm one who is anal about routine maintenance.)Bob

But, why needlessly enrich OPEC members or Americans? My V7II calls for gearbox oil changes only every 60,000 km (~37,200 mi). I'll gladly spend the money I save on coffee.
