Wish you could go to this Ouray Guzzi Gathering, but don't have a bike (or not sure yours will make it)?

Here's a nicely equipped 2004 Breva 750 in SE Denver with only 10K miles on it:  :thumb:

If you want something more studly, here's a nice 2008 1200 Sport in Boulder Colorado:

I do not know either bike or their owners.

Not sure if you have made arrangements with the KOA or not, but the Creekside Cafe that serves food there usually closes on Labor Day weekend.  I can't recall if you were counting on them for meals or not.  I stayed there last September after Labor Day and was a little disappointed that I didn't read the schedule.  It looks like it's the same this year, as well.

UTrider, thanks for that!  I was planning to gather there the first night.  I will verify if they will be open or not.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!

We are getting close!  I have verified that unfortunately the onsite restaurant at the KOA will be closed when we are there.

IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON JOINING IN ON ONE OF THE GROUP DAY RIDES On Sept. 8 or 9;
I will be in Cabin 22A.  Please come to my cabin at 8:45 AM with a full tank of gas on the morning of the ride for a short preride meeting.  I will hand out maps and discuss the ride details.  The rides will begin from my cabin at 9:00 AM.   My contact info:

Alan Pratt
Cabin 22A

Riding a 2016 V7II Stone, matte black, with a distinctive black and yellow checkerboard racing stripe.

I have no other organized plans, but am thinking of making a Thursday and Friday night dinner reservation for a group of interested folks.  If you would like to join me for dinner please let me know so I can get a head count.  Thanks.

Another quick note.  For the Friday ride, I have verified that the Four Corners Motus in Dolores will be expecting us.  They currently have 3 Motus (Moti?) in stock.  They are also a Vincent restoration shop and will likely have several Vincents and a few other assorted interesting bikes.  This will be an interesting place to checkout.

Anyone coming from the left coast, or maybe want to meet up along the way?  I'm taking hwy 99 to hwy 58, then hwy 40 to Flagstaff, then 89/160 to four corners.  I'm starting the COBDR at that point, but would enjoy the company!

I'll ride down on Thursday and will spend the night with a friend in Ouray. Will be there for Friday's ride and its aftermath. I may head home Friday night, certainly on Saturday morning, because we're due to leave for California to celebrate my dad's 95th birthday.

Seth,
Looking forward to seeing you.  If it works out, we are still planning on meeting you along the way on Thursday.  We just have to settle on our route and exact schedule.  I would like to come up from 50 through Crawford and meet you in Paonia or Hotchkiss.  Just not sure we will have time.  We will be in touch with more info in a week or so.

When Rocker got this ride up A few years back my son an myself sure had a nice time in the area.
Don't forget to go to the heated pools north of the campground it is well worth the soaking in the hot pools believe me.

Alan: At your rate of oil pressure, I figure six hours from Niwot to Crawford, allowing for Denver traffic and a fuel stop/snack. That would put you into Crawford around 2pm, and Ouray KOA around 4pm. Keep me posted on your timing --

Alan,
Are you guys heading over on Hiway 50 or keeping to a more northern route?  We will be coming across Hiway 24 to Johnson Corner and going over Monarch Pass on Thursday. Likely to cross paths somewhere along the way if you are on 50.

Seth, Mike:

I just confirmed last night our plan is to leave Boulder at 7:00 AM, which does put us in Johnson Village at about 10:00, and Crawford at 2:00-ish.  Mike, If you want to try to meet at Johnson Village we would love to have you join us.  There will be 4 of us coming down from Boulder.  Getting excited for this trip!

That should be pretty close to our projected schedule, so we'll plan on meeting up around 10!  I have your phone # in case our schedules diverge (if it's the same one you had last year).

Hwy 50 currently has some pain in the ass roadwork being done. Tried to ride to Gunnison last week and turned around when I saw a mile of cars waiting in line. Decided to go the other way to Montrose and was stopped by ANOTHER road project. I just went back home up the Black Canyon Hwy 92.  Here is the Cotrip.org road work description:
PAVING OPERATIONS
50E

US 50 Eastbound / Westbound along Blue Mesa Reservoir (Milemarker 127-139) (through November 2017)
6:30 AM-7:00 PM MO-FR Single-lane, alternating travel; delays of 20 minutes or more through three work areas; width restriction of 10 feet during work hours. oncrete bridge deck removal (at MP 136); roadway asphalt removal and recycling; and asphalt paving. (NOTE - milling of bridge joints near MP 132 has produced some rough road through much of August; please heed lowered speed limit.). There will be a 10-foot width restriction during work hours through the projects duration. Please note, there is also a separate, adjacent project west of this project at MP 121 to 123.5, underway. Project Info Line/Email: (970) 765-0535; EMAIL - us50bluemesa@gmail.comhttps://www.codot.gov/projects/us-50-blue-mesa.

LAST CALL

Looking forward to seeing everyone.  As noted earlier, the restaurant at the KOA is unfortunately closed when we are there.  I am making dinner reservations in town for Thurs., Friday, and Sat. nights.  I had four folks say yes to that above.  Anybody else want a place at the table?  I will be making the reservations in the next day or so.
