Great to hear that a good time was had by all.  Except me.  I did't feel well and left the KOA Friday morning.  I't's now Monday morning and I'm still in the hospital after having my gall bladder removed.

I guess the moral is that we need to take advantage of meets like this while we can.

Well, it was a good gathering despite a few unfortunate events; dx's illness mentioned above and a nighttime bear attack on a tank bag.  Have only heard about this one, and hope there wasn't much damage to the bike.

Check back in a day or two for more good pics.  I don't take many but I know there are some good ones that were taken and I would love to see them.  But here are a few I have:

The view of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.  There was a lot of haze due to the many wildfires in the west.

The pictures from the auto museum look great. Hopefully next time I can at least make it for two nights and get in a ride. The dinner Saturday night was top notch and world class. Worth every cent. Thank you Alan for all of the effort putting this together. It was really great hanging out with other enthusiasts.

Jim McDermott and I logged well over 1200 miles over the weekend. Our adventure included an instant dead battery in Red Mesa, AZ on the rez. Had to be towed into Farmington, NM for a new battery .

upload multiple pictures

This added an extra night on the road and a couple hundred extra miles to the adventure.

We had a good time meeting Guzzi people and enjoying Ouray.

Thanks to Alen!  Enjoy the the beer stein!

My wife and I had a super time!  This was her first "not a rally" rally or get together and she really enjoyed the vibe and atmosphere.  It was great to talk to everyone and get others perspective and input.  Dinner Saturday night was so enjoyable, and everyone was so gracious.

Alan, thanks again for taking the time, effort and energy to put this together!  Looking forward to 2 yrs from now, already.

First and foremost: Thank You! to "alanp" who organized and orchestrated this Guzzi Romp through the great state of Colorado, USA!

Below is a link to an on-line dump of all the photos and two videos I took during "The 2017 Wild Guzzi Western Adventure, Ouray, Co" gathering:

You can view and/or download any or all of the 145+ image (.JPG .jpg), video (.MOV), and other (.txt .pdf) files you find there.  If you select the "Tiles" display option then a nice slide show of all the image files is available.

Here is the final-night dinner, held at the "BonTon" - a fine Italian restaurant:

Just a note to y'all in wrap-up of the Great Guzzy Ouray Gathering last weekend.

The GPS on my 2004 Moto "Everyone-Knows-A-750-Is-Too-Small-To-Tour" Guzzi Breva 750 shows about 1,200 miles logged during the 4-day round trip.

The "Max Speed" panel reads 87 mph for the same ride. Is that even possible for such a tiddler? Still, I thank all those 1100,  1200, & 1400cc riders who were kind enough to throttle back and keep me in their mirrors.

Checking back in!
I had a great time Saturday night at dinner!  Had the opportunity to meet some really great folks, do a little "bench racing" and reminisce a bit about the old days!.
I completed the COBDR and am back at the house.  Made it back Wednesday night around 11:00 pm. Total mileage for the trip, 2,691, with about 640 miles in the dirt.  I do do the Alpine loop, including Corkscrew, California, Hurricane, and Cinnamon passes.  With the exception of not doing Cottonwood pass due to it being closed, and Haggerman due to weather, I rode the whole BDR.
Here are a couple pics of the ride:

Good times!
Thanks again for letting me tag along! Saturday night was a great diversion! It was also the last night I didn't eat food I didn't have to boil water for for the next 4 days!
Cheers
If it's tourist season, why can't you hunt them?
